Especially when your own brother and fellow band-mate stole the woman you were in love with.
Sitting in a Michigan recording studio with him, singing lyrics he wrote about her, is a special kind of torture.
The only thing more frustrating might be the producer’s assistant who radiates sunshine and has more motivational quotes than a greeting card company.

Love rocks.
Heavy guitars, a voice with the burn of pure single malt, and lyrics that distil the meaning of love are the greatest things.
If only the man singing didn’t have a temperament as foul as the Michigan winter. Jase sitting in her car while yelling at her to get him out of there is a surprise. Why she hits the accelerator and takes him to her father’s cabin on the lake is an even greater mystery.
How was she supposed to know they’d end up snowed in for days? Or that when they got out again, their relationship, and her views on love, would be changed irrevocably?
The tattoo across my right hip says it all really. A Life Less Ordinary. Inked by the amazingly talented Luke Wessman at the Wooster Street Social Club (a.k.a. New York Ink). Why is it important? Well, it sums up my view on life. That we should all aspire to live a life that is less boring, less predictable. Be bold, and do something amazing. I’ve made some crazy choices. I’ve been a car maker, a consultant, and even a senior executive at a large retailer running strategy.
Born in England, spent time in the U.S. and Japan, before ending up in Canada where I met my own, personal hero – all six and a half feet of him. Both of us are scorpios! Yeah, I know! Should have checked the astrological signs earlier, but somehow it works for us. We have two amazing kids, who I either could never part with or could easily be convinced to sell on e-bay.
I’ve wanted to be a writer for a really long time. Check through my office cupboards or my computer and you’ll find half written stories and character descriptions everywhere. Now I'm getting the chance to follow that dream.

Excerpt
Pain is etched across his face, and I just want to erase it. I thread my fingers through his and he clasps my hand firmly. “You were only a kid, it was an accident, and you weren’t the only one involved.” “None of that matters though.” He turns to me with tears in his eyes. “I still relive it all the time, and the guilt never goes away. I don’t think it ever will.” My eyes search his and I can’t bear to see him hurting, so I fling my arms around him, without any hesitation, holding him tight. Friends hug friends, right? He leans his head on my shoulder, and I wrap my arms tighter around him. “Some days, I think all the guilt I’m carrying will eat me alive. Some days, it’s a struggle to get out of bed. After I lost you, music became my only salvation. I honestly don’t know if I’d still be here if I wasn’t a musician.” “Don’t say that.” I hug him closer. “I can’t bear to think of a world without you in it.” “I can say the same of you, and I don’t ever want you to leave, Zeta, but I’m a selfish prick like that.”

Falling for your best friend is one thing, accidentally getting knocked up by him is another...
Hockey hottie Garrett Dubiak has been my best friend since college and the one constant in my life the past seven years. Through distance, career changes, and other relationships, we've always found our way back to each other.
Including one wild weekend this winter, when he finally told me he wanted more... wanted everything from me.
Too afraid to admit I felt the same, I told him I needed time.
Twelve weeks later, here I am, pregnant with his baby, alone, and terrified.
He's my best friend. He deserves to know the truth.
So I swallow my fear, my pride, and I shoot my shot. I just hope he's still willing to have me--and our baby.
Stacey Lynn likes her coffee with a dash of sugar, her heroes with a side of bossy, and her wine a deep shade of red.
The author of over thirty romance novels, many of which have been best-selling titles on Amazon, AppleBooks, and Barnes & Noble, she loves being able to turn her vivid imagination into a career that brings entertainment and joy to her readers. Focused on sports romance and emotional, small-town romance, she also loves stretching herself in different genres.
Born in Texas and raised in the Midwest, she now makes her home in North Carolina and loves all things Southern. Together with her ultimate tall, dark, and handsome hero, she has four children. Her life is a chaotic mess that fights with her Type-A, list-making, neurotically organized preferences and she wouldn't have it any other way.
Anna Harrington brings the perfect tale to start off the holidays in How the Duke Saved Christmas!
Lady Clara Marshall lived in relative isolation after a tragic accident that left her with a limited ability to walk. While her outer scars healed her emotional scars festered keeping her locked in a place filled with pain and self denial of the potential life still held for her. Michael Stanton the Duke of Wakefield seemed to have always been in love with Clara, she was his "match" until she called things off and refused to deal with him leaving his heart in limbo and directionless.
When circumstances literally delivered Clara to Michael's doorstep it seemed like fate was not through with this couple. Long pent up emotions flared, setting off a long dormant but not extinguished simmering heat between them. Clara's stubbornness set in and her refusal to not reach for happiness was well met by Michael's perseverance to ensure she found happiness. Armed with small children, dedicated staff, Clara's brother Anthony and a love that would not die Michael set forth to give Clara the HEA that was always meant for them.
This was a lovely story of two lonely hearts reunited, where love never died but instead lingered waiting to bloom. Ms. Harrington did a wonderful job of sorting through Clara's often misguided sensibilities without writing off her feelings as trivial. With perceptive writing this author found a way to make Clara's vulnerability the catalyst for finding her strength. Michael was the kind of hero who knew his way around grand gestures but it was his small day-to-day expressions that showed the depth of his caring and undying devotion, making him irresistible to Clara and readers alike. Filled with charming secondary characters this story was beautifully rounded out balancing past pain with the joy of the present and the hope of the future.
As to be expected Anna Harrington continues to give new life to history in her stories using detailed and fascinating facts as the backdrop for her engaging portrayals. This writer does a wonderful job of merging facts with fiction for standout reads. The historical notes at the end of her story are not only a great bonus but show how much research this author puts into her work. Anna Harrington's How the Duke Saved Christmas is a present to her readers that they will cherish for years to come!

Game Six loss costing my team the Cup? Check. Getting arrested and ruining my image? Check. Almost getting run over after my car breaks down? Oh, look--a hat trick.

Harper is funny, smart, and doesn't care about hockey.
I'm not supposed to be focusing on anything other than my career, yet I can't get Harper off my mind.
I know I shouldn't fall for her...but I think I already have.

TEAGAN HUNTER is a Missouri-raised gal but currently lives in South Carolina with her Marine veteran husband, where she spends her days begging him for a cat. She survives off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When she's not writing, you can find her binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. She enjoys cold weather, buys more paperbacks than she'll ever read, and never says no to brownies.
When an NHL star gets a lift from a horror prop artist in the middle of the night on a desolate road you know this is not going to be your average meet-cute. The attraction was there and the humor that always accompanies Teagan Hunter works was on full force. Filled with charming interchanges and cameos from some of this author's past couples this story was bound for success. The mishaps and miscommunications were abundant and the antics were standout. Collin and Harper simmered until they were on fire and there was no doubt this couple was meant to be from the very first moment they met. There was a sweetness in how accepting of each other this pair were and this author did a great job of showing that over and over in this story.
Teagan Hunter excels at eccentric couples and this work continued in this vein. She celebrates quirky and is all-inclusive in her depictions excluding no one because they march to their own drum. She finds her character's tribes and gives everyone the love they deserve and reader’s stand out portrayals. Puck Shy is a great start to hopefully many happily ever afters in Teagan Hunter's new Carolina Comets series!

Exquisite Scars moves readers on to the next leg of the Forgotten Legacy journey for an intense and emotional read!
Luca Tallorico, drummer of Forgotten Legacy, always knew how to have a good time until he did not. He carried his pain deep and lived in a state of self inflicted torture. Small town librarian Everleigh Johnson lived a life in the shadows never dreaming that she could be more than a burden and afterthought. When this couple found each other they were at a point where their tragedies started to define them rather than moving past them.
Wrong number, right time Luca and Everleigh's introduction may have been happenstance but quickly evolved into soul mate territory. This couple took ownership of their story from the start and brought all the angst and joy of not only discovering a new relationship but themselves in the process. There was a lot of personal baggage carried by this pair but instead of their relationship holding them down it gave them the strength to tackle it, a lot of emotional healing took place in this work. The kindness this couple displayed toward each other was as touching as it was powerful.
L. Ann not only continues to build upon the friendships of her Forgotten Legacy band members in Exquisite Scars but this series as a whole. Full of suspenseful undertones, her works are impassioned and captivating. This writer has a strength for working through the ups and downs of relationships. With thoughtful writing L. Ann takes readers to places that were not only hard but necessary for a meaningful read in Exquisite Scars.

Get your tissues ready as Siobhan Davis rips off the bandages again and again leaving gaping wounds bleeding emotions onto the pages like rivers of heartache and worthy of the Mafia world she portrays in Forbidden to Love.
Natalia Mazzone was a Mafia principessa whose life was never meant to be her own, forget about who she gave her heart to. Loyal and deadly Leonardo Messina was a soldato and Natalia's brother's best friend, worthy enough to serve by her brother's side but not good enough for his sister. Theirs was a world tied to tradition where Natalia and Leo were never meant to act on their desire for each other. The longing they felt for each other was impossible to ignore and paved the way for their heartache as time and time again they were denied what they wanted most, each other. The pain and angst this couple experienced was full on Siobhan Davis. Never one to hold back this author threw one hurdle and twist after another at this pair. As duty and desire clashed in this work it propelled this story forward at a fast pace. Natalia and Leo were a couple that were destined to be together and readers will fall madly in love with them!
Siobhan Davis is a prolific writer but what stands out is her work always feels fresh and sparks excitement in her audience. She lives in Seattle with her amazing husband and Siberian Husky. She loves to travel, throw dinner parties and support charitable causes supporting arts and animals.
Building on a life long friendship Kaylene Winter gives readers an epic love story in book four of her Less Than Zero series Timeless.
Zane Rocks and Fiona Reynolds never knew a moment that they did not love each other. The children of best friends, their friendship and love seemed inevitable. Yet the saying sins of the fathers held true of this pair as Zane and Fiona from an early age found themselves carrying the burdens of their parent’s dysfunction. Zane found comfort and a way to express his sensitivity in music even as he carried the weight of others' misguided and selfish decisions on his shoulders. Fiona, like Zane, bore the weight of other's pain, poor decisions and lashing out at the sacrifice of her own happiness. Theirs was a love that in it's purity carried them through the corruption of other's actions. Fiona fought to not be relegated to the wishes of others and Zane often used his hard earned wisdom to help others.
What stood out in this work was the loyalty and devotion Zane and Fiona had for each other and their deep rooted love. There was an incredible caring and forgiveness component to this couple's dynamic that defied miscommunication and poor decisions and showed the depth of their relationship throughout this work. Even when they made choices that were not in the other's best interest or hurt each other they always found a place to embrace the other and move past consequential moments that redirected their journeys but not their hearts. Fiona and Zane were genuine good people, affording readers the latitude to see the grey areas in their judgments of questionable actions and decisions. Ms. Winter exemplified all the stumbles and heartbreaks of true love even as she showed its power and endurance. This pair was exceptionally sweet and poignant in their interactions and never gave readers a hesitant moment in questioning whether these characters should be together or their love for each other.
Kaylene Winter shows a great deal of insight and sensitivity in her portrayals. Her depiction of fractured families and friendships always feels authentic and not a fabrication to build drama into her works. The past's ability to impact the future and six degrees of separation are done skillfully by this author for complex and meaningful reads. This writer creates characters that touch her audience and who readers feel invested in. Kaylene Winter's Timeless was an amazing story that tied up this well put together series in the grand manner it deserved even while achieving a solid fan base to launch this author's future works, a recommended Jenerated Reviews read!

Louise Bay shares an unrequited schoolgirl crush that unexpectedly blossoms into romance years later for a wonderful read in Mr. Park Lane.
Successful businessman and notorious playboy Joshua Lucas has avoided commitments unless they involve his work since being jilted at the altar years earlier. Hartford Kent lost her crush and dreams of a career in dance in a harsh reality check as a teenager, flash forward twelve years later and Hartford is a successful pediatrician starting a new job and crashing next door to her previous crush. With charming exchanges and an unanticipated sizzling chemistry things take off for this couple in a big and meaningful way.
Hartford was fantastically awkward and it was a joy to see her capture Joshua's heart without even realizing it. Joshua's wit and swoony interactions were the kind to leap off the pages and cause palpitations and envious sighs. Before long it became apparent to everyone but this couple that their insistence on remaining in the friend zone was doomed. Hartford and Joshua's attempts at denying the inevitable kept this story spicy and fast paced. Ms. Bay’s combination of a mental and physical attraction in this work was done very well allowing for her audience to easily get on board with this relationship.
As to be expected with this author, depth and humor fill the pages. Reluctant love is a specialty of Ms. Bay's and she brings it about in captivatingly unique ways. This author's characters are always memorable and far from ordinary or generic, offering richly devised portrayals for readers to get behind. Louise Bay brings her wonderful storytelling to the forefront in Mr. Park Lane for an exceptional read that makes an already great series that much better!

I haven’t seen him in over a decade, but Joshua Luca can still get to me. And I hate it.
At twenty-nine, I’m a doctor and I’ve travelled the world, but just the thought of him has me sliding my sweaty palms down my jeans and wishing I could steady my racing heartbeat.
Joshua was an almost obsession until, at seventeen, he cost me my future. In one night, I grew up and let go of my silly crush.
My infatuation for Joshua is dead and buried. Forever.
It doesn’t matter that he’s my new flat mate.
Or that he still has that same sexy smile.
I barely notice how that, despite his billions, he’s the kindest man I know.
Or that when he touches me, a thousand tiny fireworks explode all over my body.
USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful (not currently on sale as undergoing maintenance!), Hopeful, The Empire State Series, The Nights Collection, The Royals Collection, and The Gentleman Collection (these are series of stand alone books each following different characters). Louise’s most recent novel is Mr. Mayfair which is available now!
Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.
Louise loves the rain, The West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
Karla Sorensen introduces readers to a greatly anticipated new generation in her Washington Wolves universe with The Lie for a wonderful start!
Dominic Walker was a troubled bad boy with just as much attitude as talent struggling with secrets and pain that he held close. Faith Pierson brightened everyone's life that she came in contact with, never taking advantage of the privileges that came with being the team owner's daughter even as she hid her own pain and vulnerability.
When Faith was tasked with taking Dominic in hand the attraction that sparked between them was unsettling. Angst followed this couple like a cloud and the genuine caring they developed for each other despite their unknown connections was a nice twist and touching. As this pair spent more time with each other the unexpected connections that they uncovered gave this work a special feel. Faith and Dominic seemed to have been waiting all their lives for the moment they would meet and fulfill their destined love. Breaking through walls they each built in self-preservation and embracing their potential as a couple kept this story moving in a quick and engaging manner. The casual updates and cameos Ms. Sorensen snuck in about former characters was a bonus to followers of the Washington Wolves books but in no way were they a deterrent for new readers of this author.
Sorensen brings a well-written emotional story in The Lie showing that the Washington Wolves universe is far from depleted in stories waiting to be told. Introspection and flaws are not shied away from with this author but rather make her characters compelling. This was a read that cared and continued to bring the sense of community among this writer's characters that is part of her appeal and felt natural. While the next generation of Karla Sorensen's Washington Wolves books has a lot to live up to, The Lie was a great start!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While reading the previous books in the Washington Wolves universe is not necessary, for an enhanced reading experience it is recommended.
