Wynne Roman shows no sign of series fatigue in book five of her Wycked Obsession series, Wycked love.
As heroes go Rye Myles was the stuff that makes readers fan girl. His caring and protective side offset with his bad boy edge was a potent combination. With his unstable upbringing his surprisingly grounded character brought a comfort and peace to his relationship with Minx in his understanding and knowing how to handle her issues helped by his own personal history. His successes in life came from hard work and not allowing his past circumstances to hold him back permitting him to help Minx to move on from her past coupled with his love and devotion. This kind of hero is often seen as too good to be true but Ms. Roman was able to carry it off by showing just enough flaws to knock Rye from any potential pedestals and making him attainable for both Minx and readers alike.
MInx saw a darkness that few could recover from and came back with more power within than she was aware of. Reuniting with Rye was the catalyst for her to start on the road to leaving her past behind and reaching for what she wanted in her life. Minx's struggles were painful and inspiring to watch, yet her taking ownership of prior events and continually pushing past them for a future free of guilt, pain and low self esteem proved her to be one amazing heroine.
If any couple deserved to walk into the happily ever after zone it was Rye and Minx. With histories, both separate and shared, filled with sorrow and obstacles not an emotion expressed between them felt staged or disingenuous. The devotion in this pair as friends and lovers was touching to watch. The forgiveness and lack of judgment they had for each other worked beautifully in defining their relationship and moving this story forward.
Wynne Roman chose some hard topics to deal with in Wycked Love. What pushed this story to a whole other level was the fact that there was complete transparency and honesty in how this author handled serious issues. This writer expressed every thought, ranging from fear to happiness, as if this story depended on it resulting in a work that made an impressive impact. With lots of expertise and care this author avoided falling into the trap of homogenizing her band members keeping them unique and fresh for her audience. Rye and Minx showed strength in their vulnerability and Ms. Roman extended that trait to each of the key players in this work. As with the previous books in this series this writer seamlessly got into her characters heads and gave her reader's genuine and personal exposure. As has come to be expected her easy writing style was deceptive in the depth of emotions she expressed. Wycked Love builds upon the accomplishments of Wynne Roman's sexy Wycked Obsession rockers with another candid and intimate look into the lives that make up this captivating series!

Parker S. Huntington's Devious Lies, book one in the Cruel Crown series, brings some straight up steam fueled revenge for one great story!
Nash filled all the bad boy requisites and checked off hero on the way. At face value he was a jerk but underneath his mask of disdain he was brimming over with compassion and kindness. Emery was that rare magical character who managed to bring decency and goodness to a world full of harsh realities. This heroine was whimsical meets formidable taking her audience prisoner on contact with her endless charisma.
As a pair Nash and Emery kept this story in a constant state of flux between being friends and enemies. Their actions and emotions always spoke to extremes that were very well played out. This writer continuously managed to find ways to bring Nash and Emery to neutral ground before irreparable damage was done to their relationship and with readers. As blinded by their similarities as they were repelled by their differences this pair had some intense and heated exchanges that charged this story and kept it constantly interesting. Ms. Huntington handled a significant age gap with good timing and careful bridging, targeting all the reasons why this couple were right for each other even while not shying away from traits that pointed out the differences in their ages.
This author's characters were flawed yet full of angsty personality that was irresistibly decadent in its dysfunction! Story building is Ms. Huntington's forte and she layered with a seamless resolve until she left her readers fully committed to her story even while jonesing for her next work. Deep and thought provoking dialog and an infinite amount of unique details made this story a special experience. Ms. Huntington put so much love into this work clearly reaching for the best in her characters even in their worst moments. Devious Lies, smart writing that merges with the heart!

In book two of her Unrequited series, Misconception, Julia Wolf brings a younger man, older woman romance that breaks down the barriers of age for a heartfelt story of love and self discovery!
Gregarious and good-natured it really was easy to underestimate Mo Aronson lead singer of Unrequited. This story really was his coming of age, his transition into his potential. No one is perfect and this work was littered with Mo's imperfections but correspondingly it was full of Michaela's flaws too. Their age difference definitely was a factor in the inequality of tolerance but more so for their learning curve, but out of the moments of genuine intimacy and stripped of preconceived notions emerged a touching love story.
This couple's special connection came through loud and clear on repeat throughout this work. Insecurities, miscommunication, hormones and fear of past histories tainting their futures kept this work on high emotions and provided a steady stream of obstacles. Mo remarkably was not a flight risk or resigned to be flaky, he acknowledged his mistakes, took ownership and was better for it. As a hero he was really a diamond in the rough and in the end a priceless find. Behind Michaela's shield of her self-sufficient persona and distinguished career reputation was a woman waiting for the opportunity to break through her doubts and take a chance at true happiness. Knowing love in nontraditional ways made Michaela's ability to see into her heart and ultimately not walk away from a relationship with Mo a strength. How this couple handled their differences and worked on resolving their mistakes made this story impressive but more importantly approachable
Julia Wolf continues to present sensitive and personal stories with her warm and intuitive writing. This author goes to places that we can all feel as she breaks her characters down into familiar territory. Misconception brings a love story full of hope and shows the power of love for a wonderful read!

To outsider's Ford would appear to have it all. Looks, money and a brilliant career yet none of that held real meaning to him causing him to reexamine his priorities in life. Ava tackled the difficult challenge of being a successful woman in a man's world. This heroine had it going on from her career savvy to her impeccable work ethics but most importantly in how caring and genuine she was.
The chemistry between Ford and Ava was intense and impossible to ignore. This was a relationship built on basic attraction and desire versus details. A spin-off series of this author's insanely popular Satan's Fury MC Memphis Chapter series, this story took off full of steam and action cloaked in dark overtones for a relentless ride into the exclusive world of her compelling biker portrayals. Ms. Wilder presented an intense and well mapped out read as she counterbalanced her intrigue with some well put together character development for a story with lots to offer its readers and that never lagged. Her leads Hawk and Dee were a feisty pair with interesting sexy and unpredictable interactions. This writer did a great job of not compromising Hawk's loyalty to his MC even while placing him in situations which tested it. His ability to form a relationship with Dee despite their conflicting circumstances was admirable. Dee set the pages on fire with her sass and tempered it with strength and introspection. Hawk and Dee were fun to watch commit and fall in love.
L. Wilder does a wonderful job of keeping her portrayals fresh and unique. This work was complex in its rapid developments and tie ins that threw in twist regularly for some edgy and powerful jolts. Making no attempts to romanticize the biker lifestyle Ms. Wilder's writing is more about giving insight into their world showing that they deserve the benefit of having their stories told with the power and depth of their truths. Questionable morality and tremendous acts of kindness are the norm with this writer giving her audience enough information to make informed decisions. In Ties That Bind L. Wilder blurs the line between good and bad as she introduces her Ruthless Sinners making them riveting and impossible for readers to get caught up in their journeys!

The Rydeville world is black hole dark and Siobhan Davis takes readers in with no fear of the secrets and sinister machinations she uncovers in book five of her Rydeville High Elite series, Jackson!
One of the things you can expect when reading this author is multi dimensional characters that are hard to label. Jackson was the perfect example of this, on one page he was the ultimate villain and on the next he was an incredible swoon worthy champion. His transition from charming bad boy sidekick to leading man was seamless and Jackson more than carried his spotlight. Vanessa's story while heartbreaking was empowering with the strength she displayed continuously even in her weakness moments. There was no contest that this heroine earned that title as she battled and overcame continuous abuses and hurdles. No matter what angle it came from the chemistry between Jackson and Vanessa was potent. The ambiguity of this couple's relationship kept this work restless and anticipatory keeping everyone captivated, it was a page-turner. The secondary cast of this series continued to evolve and contribute nicely to this series.
Siobhan Davis manages to create unique stories that she somehow joins on common territory resulting in complex works with sensational developments. This author knows how to write stories that are well put together as she keeps the theories flowing and doles out information strategically. She is the type of writer who can keep a story going endlessly with her ability to create wonderful plot twists that can be far fetched and believable at the same time. Books 1-3 Of Love And Madness Series
For quite some time the Of Love And Madness series has been registering on my radar, but this was the first opportunity I had to sit down and read it. This went beyond a binge read and entered into meaningful and captivating territory after the first page of book one, At This Moment. In this series Ms. Cimms gives her audience an all-encompassing love story where every hug was enveloping and every kiss was soul sealing.
The leads in this work had a presence that reached far beyond the pages they occupied and the singular draw they felt toward each other easily translated to this writer's readers. Billy and Kate were full of imperfections, there were times that they both made choices that gave readers' reasons to question their appeal yet despite their lows there were just as many highs and what emerged were two incredible characters that offered so much in their frailty that it ultimately became their biggest strength. Details gave readers' a chance to form complicated opinions and showed the depth of this author's portrayals to their advantage. This couple's relationship was stripped down and the emotions were raw, real and lingering. Ms. Cimms showed Billy and Kate at their most vulnerable making no attempt to glamorize their bond and in doing so made them accessible to each other and reader's alike. The clarity this author had in expressing her characters miscommunications and misguided need to protect each other was done compassionately and expertly. A standout and memorable secondary cast not only enhanced but contributed significantly to this series.
The insight, intimacy and devotion Ms. Cimms had with her portrayals was rare and touching. She guided them through the best and worst of times and stayed true to her characters, never glossing over their flaws and never deserting them in their worst moments even as she elevated them in their best. This was an emotional read with no shortage of heartbreaking moments and full on sobs. If you are looking for a series to invest your time and heart into Karen Cimms' Of Love And Madness series is a must!

This Love Hurts

Starting with the prequel Do You Want Me? leading into This Love Hurts W. Winters' brings a slow build up of intrigue with strong undercurrents of anticipation and smoldering attraction. The nuances and clues in these works were subtle even as they were strategic. Not one interaction in this story did not carry a lot of meaning behind its obvious intent. Deliah was a strong woman who grappled with having achieved what she set out to do in life but knowing she was missing something despite her successes. The question was what and this story led her on a twisty path of self-discovery that shocked even herself. Cody was a mystery with his role ambiguous yet never lessening his appeal as a key player. The wild card in this mix was Marcus, who he was and how he played a part in this work existed in a blurred area that taunted readers for the entire story.
The initial slower pacing of this story by this author was misleading as readers fell into complacency regarding the plot and the fate of her characters. That being said this work was extremely well calculated and Ms. Winters excelled in bringing her portrayals to a place of relaxed intimacy with her readers before she upended their comfort zones and tested their boundaries right alongside her characters. Exposing dark corners most people avoid this author brought a fascinating story to her audience with glaring purpose. Ending on a cliffhanger this is a work that will keep readers guessing and eagerly awaiting the fate of this cast of characters in their next installment!

T-Bone

L. Wilder spotlights another of her Satan's Fury MC Memphis members in T-bone for an emotional ride that was as touching as it was edgy.
A resigned bachelor T-Bone never saw the attraction to a fellow member's much younger sister coming, it broke his fierce code of brotherhood to pursue his interest. Finding many reasons why he could not act on his attraction, his rationale fell short when the attraction was reciprocated. T-Bone was reliably kind yet by the same measure was able to step into his role as a man to be feared with ease. His ability to balance the different aspects of his personality from fun loving, loyal friend and gentle lover to his hard edge significant role in a MC was played off well by this writer making him a hero even when demonstrating his more questionable behavior. Alyssa was sweet and hard working, dealing with trauma from years earlier she still managed to be brave and push back against her demons. The years separating this couple fell away and the relationship and love that developed between them was as much of a surprise as it was genuine. This did not feel like an older younger age gap relationship as much as one where the couple complimented each other. Misunderstandings, secrets and challenges kept this pair's relationship lively and tension filled. The bonding that occurred between T-Bone and Alyssa was sweet in an often very dark world affording them each comfort in the personal bubble they had formed.
In T-Bone Ms. Wilder once again finds a way to bring the truths of her bikers’ alternative lifestyle in such a way to bridge any concerns that may exist in her audience's perceptions. She finds common ground making them human and vulnerable, two very appealing traits that contrast with the often brutal culture they take part in. With straightforward disclosure this author brings large doses of reality even as she brings hope and love with her down to earth writing style that makes her so approachable to her readers. T-Bone shows the power of love follows no clear path but to the right heart, a great read for old and new fans alike!

Beautiful and poignant Kate Meader's Man Down is a story of hope at the end of a very dark tunnel.
Haunted by his past and yearning for a future Gunnar Bond was broken but not irreparable. Kate Meader in her winding logic managed to find a way to join together a group of people with missing pieces making them whole again. Sadie was kind, witty and tried her hardest even at her lowest points. Gunnar and Sadie were fixers and despite their scars these two big-hearted characters reached beyond their sorrow to help others, which in itself was an admirable trait but was extremely likable as well. Out of their individual tragedies these two were able to bring each other out of their protective shells and their journey toward each other and happiness made for a wonderful romance. A great secondary cast rounded out this story.
Kate Meader's writing is sensitive and mindful without being overprotective of her portrayals. Bad things may happen but this author guides her work with kindness and humor for stories that are unmistakably her own and never superficial. With a nice twist on the frenemies trope Ms. Meader kept this story interesting and her readers invested. In Man Down Kate Meader adds another couple to her Rookie Rebel's roster that readers will find it impossible not to fall in love with!

In a journey punctuated with authentic problems, emphasizing that real life relationships are not a smooth ride but a cumulative of what matters and compromises with the ultimate goal being a good and satisfying life, Karen Cimms brings the perfect conclusion to her Of Love and Madness series in Better Man.
Billy and Kate's love story withstood not only the test of time but the ins and outs of this series. Tying up loose ends, reaching for purpose together and apart, both Kate and Billy embraced their commitment even as divergent paths and decisions offered challenges in this work. While these characters faced life changing choices and events Billy’s acceptance of them played a pivotal role in this story. Confronting seemingly selfish wants and opening up to unforeseen possibilities, as indicated by the title of this work, Billy's actions proved him to be the better man. Ms. Cimms did a wonderful job of keeping Billy in hero territory when sharing his preferences and reasonings, ones that could have very easily have been labeled self-absorbed as they were contrasted with the selfless hopes of Kate, giving his point of view validity as well. Billy and Kate were so complicated in their humanity, covered in scars this pair were beautiful in their imperfections and held up under the intense scrutiny of Ms. Cimms' character development. In the end this couple's long shared love proved to be a strength and bond that made the outcome of this story not a compromise but a natural and right progression of Billy and Kate’s relationship.
It is impossible not to feel invested in Ms. Cimms writing. This author's sensitivity combined with her recognition and inclusion of her character's flaws are traits that leave permanent imprints on her readers. A testament to the depth of Karen Cimm's writing is her ability to add new layers to her portrayals and give unexpected fresh glimpses into her characters foundations. Better Man left readers on a good note full of hope and the knowledge that beloved characters Billy and Kate's could handle whatever the future had in store for them.

Dark and Machiavellian Ella Fields' Evil Love had enough gut punches to keep readers gasping for the entirety of this work!
The popular guy and unseen awkward girl lead the way on a rocky road taken in telling this story. Jude strove for evil and always fell just short of it. His lack of complete follow through in his descent into darkness despite doing and attempting atrocious acts showed that humanity still existed within him. Fern lived sheltered from the evil that existed all around her yet was tainted despite the measures put in place to protect her from being exposed and ultimately absorbed into the darkness that surrounded her. This relationship was fraught with pain, longing and denial, the extremes this couple went to were hard to watch play out even as they kept the audience pulled into the dysfunction of this relationship. Jude and Fern's attraction was undeniable but their contrasting revolution was just as strong making this work fast paced and difficult to walk away from.
With brutal twist and cruelty at a premium Ella Fields took her portrayals to the edge and made no excuses for their actions for a raw and riveting read. With smart and intriguing plotting this author showed her readers the power of her writing in not shying away from the unpleasant. Evil Love was not an easy story but one that readers will definitely have a strong opinion of in the end and remember long after its conclusion!

When larger than life rockstar Devon Chambers needed a life make-over no nonsense paramedic Kathleen Murphy may just be the woman for the job!
There is something incredibly appealing about a hero who works for that status after establishing himself in his past with less than honorable actions. Devon's gradual shift from self absorbed to stand up friend and lover was done believably and kept the best parts of his charm intact. Kat was a strong woman and fierce mother overcoming obstacles with seemingly super hero abilities but beneath her strength this author showed Kat's vulnerabilities to her benefit and made her portrayal interesting. At times Kat's stubbornness was a bit overbearing on this couple's relationship but in the end this author was able to constructively work past Kat's walls. The chemistry between Devon and Kat was hot! In a relationship where extraordinary situations in this pair's careers often dimmed the ordinary events of everyday life Ms. Wolf did a fine job of shining the spotlight on the underrated joys life's simpler side. From kids, dogs, exes and any number of mundane circumstances this author did not idealize love but showed it in all it's messy glory.
Julia Wolf continues to bring to her audience introspective and heartfelt stories that show depth and unique relationships. Her work is witty but just as easily emotional and sensitive. Rocked dug deep and pulled big possibilities from a small town for an entertaining romance.

As the two took a spontaneous motorcycle adventure across Europe they found that they both offered the insight the other needed to find what they were looking for. The caring and candid banter between Conor and Donal was wonderful to watch play out. Ms. Ward Cosio excels in depth filled inner and direct dialog. Donal was on the brink of adulthood but still floundered for footing and direction. In contrast Conor was at a point in his life where things were so settled that he no longer had anything to reach for and complacency was tearing him apart. This author did a fine job of giving both Conor and Donal the position of strength and wisdom the other needed to progress in their individual journeys.
This was an introspective work and the focus on self-discovery was kind even when this author's portrayals were stripped bare. While there was plenty of angst and sadness, with lots of airing of past and present issues, there was just as much humor and comradery making this work well rounded and always interesting. Lara Ward Cosio's gift of gab made for some memorable conversations between Conor and Donal. This writer sees and feels her characters with clarity and her unfiltered portrayals are ever evolving. No sentiment is insignificant or unaccounted for with this author because with her they all lead somewhere and are key to her character's makeups. Reading her work is a unique and intimate experience. This series conclusion did not feel like an ending but a time to go in a new direction, leading the way for Ms. Cosio to take on new characters and breathe life into them with her wonderfully unique perspective. Rock Star on the Verge, an amazing journey and an amazing read!

Even in a series with a cast of phenomenal couples there is always one couple that stands out and in the case of the Kennedy Boys series that couple is Keaton and Austin!
Sweet and sexy this couple brought all the angst of fighting to be who they were and loving who they wanted into the thick of their attraction. In true Siobhan Davis style their love did not come without its fair share of hurdles and cruel manipulations but what stood out was this pair's personal interactions remained pure of heart and without guile, genuine to their characters. Both Keaton and Austin had all the makings of being a hero even as their love for each other and themselves put earning that title to the test. This author laid down a strong foundation for this couple's love but it was her awareness of timing in the progression of this relationship and the need for her heroes to mature and evolve as individuals that showed her sensitivity and sophistication as a writer.
Nothing is perfect in the love lives of Siobhan Davis portrayals. Her plots are complex with lots of unexpected developments as she unabashedly shows the less than flattering side of love right alongside with the ideal side of love. What you can always be assured of with this writer is that her characters end up with a worthy match. This work continues to show this author's aptitude for taking on sensitive topics with compassion. Siobhan Davis brings achingly tender romance to her work Adoring Keaton for an unforgettable love story!

Book three in Alyson Santos' Turner Artist series, Breaking South, shows not everything is as it appears on the surface but taking chances and the time to look beyond the obvious is worth the risk of what you might find!
Alyson Santos' characters are so much larger than the stories they reside in. Her portrayals speak to a part of human nature her readers would be hard pressed to not be able to relate to personally either directly and indirectly. What made Oliver stand out was not how extraordinary he was but the ordinary things that he retained that kept him from letting his fame and talent go to his head. His kindness and lack of pretense stayed true to his core goodness. Genevieve like Oliver shared these attributes but unlike him was caught in an emotional net of manipulation by those with the power to influence her. Oliver was her chance to break free from emotional captivity both forced and self imposed. Confronting hard truths this couple found not only love with each other but what they needed individually. As this pair struggled with major personal issues and obstacles their genuine caring and support was moving.
Ms. Santos' merging of introspective lyrics and profound intimate reflection take her stories to a whole new level of intensity. Her sensitivity, scrutiny and direct approach to her character's mental states speaks volumes to her commitment to seeing them through their best and worst experiences. Candid and smart dialog are done well by this author. Breaking South brings another great Alyson Santos couple for readers to love and a story that resonates with this author's talent!

Scarlett Cole brings a love story immersed in emotions and secrets in book one of her Love Distilled series, Love In Numbers!
Connor Finch lived for his career never prioritizing a serious relationship. Charming and sophisticated he commanded attention from his first introduction in this work. Emerson Dyer carried the world on her shoulders as she tried to keep her family and family business going after her father's unexpected passing. Smart and feisty she showed her capability even under the most trying circumstances. Individually and together this couple were a wonderful mix of contrast that gave them dimension.
Connor and Emerson were not just caught in the crossfire of a family feud but in an irresistible attraction. One of the traits that made them stand out as a couple was the unique way that they handled their interactions. Not only were they thoughtful in their gestures but stressed to each other that they did not want to play games coming right out and expressing what they wanted from their relationship from the start. But even with a good relationship foundation in place this pair's being together did not come without its share of poor decisions and some pretty serious obstacles to overcome. Extenuating circumstances, withheld information, with the best intentions, and finding themselves in over their heads with family drama and relevant disclosures added a nice shot of adrenaline to this story as they lead to family secrets and intrigue. In contrast mundane couple interactions were made sweet and well played off of the extraordinary situations that were thrown this couple's way. In the end Connor and Emerson's taking ownership of their mistakes and making a commitment to being together enabled them to work out their problems and shine as a couple.
Scarlett Cole knows her way around crossroads and hard decisions as seen in many of her previous works, Love In Numbers was no exception. Her portrayals were richly designed with lots of personal touches to distinguish them. She showed her characters vulnerabilities not as weaknesses but as aspects that emphasized their humanity and added interesting layers to their personal dynamics. As to be expected with this author she kept her story paced beautifully with the right amount of intimate moments enhanced with the subtle inclusion of individual histories and significant revelations. In Love In Numbers Scarlett Cole continues to be an author with emotional depth, sharing love stories that stand out and keep her loyal audience captivated, a recommended read!

Dissonance

Julia Wolf goes all out in Dissonance, taking readers on an emotional journey of besties gone "bad" and having to come full circle in order to realize what they had in each other!
One of the best compliments a writer can receive is when readers fall in love with their characters right along with them and that is exactly what happened in this book. The love affair with Alex Murray had been a long time in the making with this author's audience. He was the perfect storm of fabulous with his outlandish antics and his underlying sensitivity that gave him substantial depth. Murray being Murray just made things better throughout the Unrequited series. It is easy to dismiss a prickly heroine as not being reader approachable or deserving of a Murray, but Julia Wolf with her insight managed to make Yael incredibly appealing. Yael was a complex mix of dysfunction shielded in cutting wit and moody outburst waiting for the right person to allow her to accept her goodness.
This couple reached beyond the pages and made it easy to get wrapped up in their amazing energy. Murray and Yael were all about that thin line between love and hate. The humorous exchanges between them were off the charts but in the opposite extreme so was the pain and angst. This pair poked and prodded but always knew they had the security of being a sure thing in each other's life. The stark contrast between this pair was immediately evident but it was the subtle similarities that they shared that built up throughout this story and caught readers off guard. There was a sweet insular quality to this couple that made their relationship special and ultimately one that this writer's audience could get behind.
Julia Wolf at her best lets loose and delves into her characters emotions for some candid shake-ups. Her writing is full of sharp observations and caring perceptivity. There is an honesty in her portrayals that resonates with her audience and keeps her stories intimate. In Dissonance Julia Wolf took on the hard work and came away with a brilliant romance!

Ilsa Madden-Mills takes a thin red string and binds her leads in fated love even while she manages to captivate an entire audience In Not My Match!
If two people were on the opposite ends of the spectrum of people's perceptions it would be Devon Walsh and Giselle Riley. Devon was a superstar wide receiver and the guy to have around for a good time with no expectations. Giselle was the brilliant physics student planning a life committed to academia. From all perspectives these two were not what anyone would imagine as a couple but then Ilsa Madden-Mills with her ingenious matchmaking skills stepped in and created a relationship that was so perfect that it was impossible to see any other outcome but for Devon and Giselle to fall hopelessly in love.
Drawn to each other this pair's connection was a great display of contrasted realities. To most Devon was the fun one and Giselle was the serious one but when they were alone and let their guards down their roles were often reversed. The ambiguity of their expected roles added a great dynamic and made for some interesting developments in this story. An attraction built on friendship, their loyalty and unconditional acceptance of each other was touching. The push and pull in with this couple felt organic and while there was no shortage of struggles Devon and Giselle were well matched.
Humor was an integral part of this work and Ms. Madden-Mill's colorful characters flourished with their fabulous eccentric behavior and antics. From her leads to her secondary cast everyone stood out in this story and there was no shortage of entertaining moments. The comical moments offset poignant moments without downplaying them.
Ilsa Madden-Mills struts her stuff unabashedly in Not My Match. She makes goofy all the rage with her unique take on everyday life. If there is an author out there who can manage to find a way to make unexpected matches work believably, it is Ilsa Madden-Mills. Her writing finds a place that shares vulnerability with kindness and humor without ridicule. The opposite of its title Not My Match was the perfect match for old and new readers alike.

Brenda Rothert's Kit adds another heartfelt story to her Chicago Blaze series.
Kit Carter was gorgeous, talented and popular but there was something that just did not fit with the public persona he projected. Molly Lynch was career driven yet struggled with her personal interactions. Both seemed like opposites, Kit with his easy going manner and Molly with her serious disposition yet both shared personal pain that drew them to each other and intuitively made them aware that there was more to what they saw in each other at first glance and real potential for love. The attraction between this couple was well defined and kept up a steady interest in their relationship throughout this work.
Brenda Rothert is a writer who generally hits the mark. Kit was well paced and there is no doubt that this author is a talented writer. Ms. Rothert definitely generated interest in and empathy with her characters, where this work struggled a bit was in its resolution. There was some serious subject matter broached in this story that felt like its revelation was rushed and then glossed over with the characters never really resolving a very serious issue but rather continuing on in a mutually accepted and dysfunctional way. The story felt like it was just taking off when it concluded, whereas a little bit of fleshing would have made a huge difference in the overall feeling of this work. Brenda Rothert's Kit was an emotional read with lots of angst, with a little more detail it could have really made an impact and given readers and the characters a more optimistic outlook and a more satisfying read.

Crashing East

Nothing seemed to be going right for Julian Campbell, between his band breaking up in a public scandal and his niece being left at his doorstep by his conniving brother-in-law it seemed like an inevitable slide to rock bottom. Personal Assistant Hadley Crawford was the friend you wanted by your side and the employee you wanted to organize your life, unfortunately her family were blind to what an incredible person she was and made it their pastime to tear her down. With a prickly start Julian and Hadley found that their contentious relationship as neighbors was going to be put to the test as co-workers setting the scene for two people both on a collision course for personal melt downs to either kill each other or embrace each other as a comrade in arms.
Julian was a man who tried to be a decent and honorable person instead of taking the easy way out. This approach to life was not always apparent to others yet he kept true to who he was and doing the right thing. Hadley fought to stay the path she wanted versus what her family tried to manipulate her to do. This was a couple who initially balked at each other, but their shared trait of inherent goodness ultimately made it impossible for them to not recognize their attraction. With well written interactions, that gradually revealed who this pair really were and broke down their preconceived perceptions, an amazing relationship evolved that was emotional and filled with depth. This author's inclusion of Julian's troubled niece as a means to break down their misconceptions of each other and serving as a common denominator as they each tried to help her was exceptionally well done. Both Julian and Hadley's flaws made them interesting portrayals and instead of making them weaker made them stronger with their humanity.
Aly Stiles is an author that can make you feel what her characters feel but takes it a step further and makes you understand what they are going through at a very basic level making her writing not only emotional but powerful. Misunderstandings, miscommunications and mislabels rounded out this work for some very real moments offset by some great insight by this author into her characters. Don't expect easy paths for Aly Stiles portrayals but what you can expect is genuine experiences that reflect their emotions and an author who does them justice with incredible skill and caring. Crashing East, the perfect wreck to dive into!

If anyone could take on the mob and come away a winner, it would be Siobhan Davis. Bringing her own unique perspective to the Mafia romance genre this author effortlessly brought all the powerful emotions her readers have come to expect from her and draped it in the sinister undertones of organized crime .
With no shortage of questionable characters and plot twist galore Condemned to Love took off from page one. Ms. Davis did an admirable job of uncovering the mystery of Bennett Mazzone while keeping him interesting. Ben was multi layered enabling him to fit the role of a mob boss while still finding a place that readers could relate to him despite the ruthless lifestyle he led. Sierra was a fierce heroine that was a fitting match for Bennett. She held her own and did not back down or allow herself to be manipulated, she was always a worthy opponent and never accepted defeat. The long-standing connection between the leads was at times sweet and often smoldering in its intensity and the depth of extreme emotions they triggered in each other. This was no light and easy romance, but it resonated as genuine.
Whatever subject matter Siobhan Davis tackles she does so fearlessly and masterfully. Captivating and edgy Siobhan Davis maneuvered the underworld like a seasoned mob boss in Condemned to love. Ashton Morgan Apartment 17b

In Ashton Morgan Apartment 17b Aly Stiles shares a touching story and shows that even in the darkest moments the gifts of unconditional love and kindness can be transformative.
There are many reasons that elevate a character to hero status but being an exceptional human being is by far the most attractive and Ashton Morgan wore his title well. Downtrodden and surrounded by despair could very well be defined as this character. Ashton was someone that truly did not know his worth but his refusal to be defeated by a constant stream of obstacles and his staying true to the goodness within him made him a beautifully devised character. He never appeared weak even at his lowest moments, stripped bare with nothing left to give he always found a reserve.
Iris Alexander was a kind, gentle person that recognized her privilege and blessings in life. With her refusal to be blinded to the suffering of others she was an exception in the crowd she was part of. Iris's strength, kindness and persistence were not overblown or fantastical but core to her make up. She was a genuinely decent person who managed to recognize decency in others.
This work was more than just a love story, it was about friendship and loyalty and not giving up when times are hard. This couple shared a true connection that rose above class barriers and the different circles they moved in. One of the things that stood out in this relationship was the building of a friendship that went beyond wooing and flirting but a committed interest in all parts of each other's lives. Ashton and Iris each had their own issues but the awareness they derived from each other was a significant catalyst to recognizing what was needed to handle them. Potential often felt like a myth as survival mechanisms took over Ashton and Iris but the hope, they inspired in each other allowed them to move forward. The acceptance of flaws and the elevation of capabilities was well balanced in this book for a realistic portrayal of this couple’s evolution. From the start this pair fought a losing battle for a love that was inevitable.
This was an emotional story with no shortage of tears, do not expect dry eyes when reading it. Aly Stiles explored the power of love In Ashton Morgan Apartment 17b from multiple angles ranging from romantic, parental, sibling and friend taking her leads from tragedy to endless possibilities. Hitting rock bottom and finding your way to better times is a subject that Ms. Stiles handles with tenacious grace. This author always does an exceptional job of giving in-depth insight into all her characters and has an uncanny ability in capturing the emotions of her younger portrayals. Aston Morgan, Apartment 17b was worth every angst filled page, a standout book for this year and a recommended Jenerated Reviews read!

Brittainy C. Cherry brings a great addition to her compass series in Eastern Lights!
Connor Roe first made his appearance as an intriguing secondary character in Southern Storms, in his own story he not only stood out but jumped off the pages. An older Connor was a brilliant and driven businessman, yet he retained the charm and goodness that first drew the attention of readers of Southern Storms. Strong when she needed to be and vulnerable without being a victim Aaliyah was the perfect match for Connor.

Powerful feelings come into play in Emery Rose's fated romance When the Storm Breaks. The past dictates the present and two people's fate takes over as they find themselves so intertwined that there is no choice but to capitulate and accept a love that was meant to be.
Brody and Shiloh were such an intuitive couple they shared some experiences and empathized with others, in the end they were joined at the soul. Individually and together they were wonderfully constructed characters, complex and interesting. Far from perfect in the end it was the acceptance of their imperfects that made them standout and made them so appealing. The interactions between this couple was genuine adding additional layers to their relationship. Every moment in this work was significant and held an important role in this story's development.
This author thrives in stories that are riddled with heartache and life's less fortunate, yet somehow she always manages to find the right angles to salvage her brutalized portrayals. No one walks away unscathed but what they do walk away with are lessons learned and hard earned rewards. It is hard not to fall into the tumultuous emotions of her stories, they are absorbing, soul crushing and in contrast heart warming. This author brings true and gritty feelings to her works and they translate beautifully to her audience. When the Storm Breaks is another memorable romance from Emery Rose that will leave you believing in love.

Twisted Cravings
By: Cora Reilly

Publisher: Cora Reilly
Author Website: https://corareilly.com/
5 Stars
Cora Reilly takes on the youngest Falcone brother in Twisted Cravings for another emotionally charged story in book six of her Camorra Chronicles!
Adamo was always the brother that stood apart. Throughout this series he was the brother who questioned his family and his involvement in it. This was a great exploration of his coming to terms with his role in his family. Ms. Reilly did a great job of showing how Adamo differed from his brothers even as he came to terms with acknowledging and embracing his similar inclinations. Dinara like Adamo stood on the periphery of her world, finding enough to care about to not forsake it but not enough to fully accept it. Two kindred spirits, this pair were sensitive despite their tough exteriors as well as heartbreakingly similar in their brokenness and avenues of escape. Their attraction to each other was well played out and how they evolved as a couple was not only unique but fitting for two characters that struggled to find their place within their family’s expectations.
Both of Adamo and Dinara carried on Ms. Reilly's tradition of hidden depths, what you least expect she confronts leaving both her portrayals and audience reeling from the impact. This writer shows her strength in giving the veneer of normalization to behaviors that break boundaries and while not condoning them applying reasoning that demonstrates why her character's actions make sense in the world they live in. Twisted Cravings was a brutal story not because of the activities you would expect within the mob arena she writes in but other circumstances. How this writer brought truths to light in this story was intense and gave little reprieve even as she managed to be very considerate and sensitive to the serious nature of her story. Even while focused on Adamo and Dinara's story Ms. Reilly adeptly added layers to her already multifaceted supporting characters from previous works.
Cora Reilly is consistently brilliant with her stories as she elevates her antiheroes and finds new ways to give them heroic attributes within the scope of their darkness. Her heroines are not pushovers and are as clever and they are genuine. This writer has created a universe of harsh brutality tempered with glimmers of humanity that pulls her readers in and leaves them constantly on edge and thirsting for more. Cora Reilly's Twisted Cravings came with the expected cuts and bruises this author liberally doles out in her work and like her previous stories in this series it was worth every bit of pain!

L Wilder adds another great addition to her Ruthless Sinners series with Widow's Undoing!
Widow and Frankie were of a kind. This couple each came from a history of abuse, making their shared similar experiences and intuitive understanding of each other the very things that enabled them to open up to each other and to the possibilities they had cut themselves off in the past. This was a touching romance with the interactions between this pair bouncing between awkward, sweet and full on steamy. The battle Widow and Frankie encountered in feeling drawn to each other yet carrying the weight of their past was depicted well. Seeing this couple build each other up was moving and heartwarming. Standing out, Widow's exchanges with Frankie's son's were seemingly effortless even while carrying so much significance. A wonderful secondary cast offered insight and depth to an already solid story.
When you begin a L. Wilder book it is like opening the door home, her tough bikers give the best book hugs that keep her readers coming back for more! Devil I Hate, book one Jillian Quinn's The Devil's Knights series, from the first page onward had no restraints and lots of questions that will keep readers on the edge of their seats!
This was a dark fast past story mired in intrigue and mirages that kept readers guessing right along with the characters. Every chapter offered a new clue that altered perspectives even while holding readers captivated by events. Chemistry was literally combusting off the pages as the laws of attraction were bent and twisted. Luca was dominating, cunning and mysterious in his interactions, holding Alexandrea in his grasp both willingly and unwillingly. Enter Luca's brother Marcello and the heat and competition put this story next level in intensity.
Broken portrayals trying to make the best of a fate they had no say in and a shared darkness made an interesting story. Ms. Quinn used flashbacks well in moving this work forward. A dark agenda and intense portrayals made Devil I Hate a quick and absorbing read to escape into.

Nothing beats two great characters, who have had their fair share of hard knocks, hooking up and setting off fireworks leaving readers grabbing for champagne in celebration of Louise Bay's Mr. Smithfield!
Gabriel and Autumn circled each other in fascination and forbidden attraction causing them to blossom individually and as a couple in each other's company. Both characters came from dark histories but dealt with their scars differently. Gabriel resorted to being an overprotective father and reserved in his interactions, while Autumn over compensated with making sure everyone around her was happy even going as far as sacrificing her own happiness to achieve this goal.
With sensitive writing Ms. Bay connected two people who approached their lives differently and to most would appear to not be a good fit. This author stripped Gabriel and Autumn down to their vulnerability for an insightful connection and managed to find a way for this pair to not only help each other but complete each other. The energy in this relationship was unmistakable and kept this story not only interesting but sparking with its heated interactions. Unexpected swoony attributes, that defied filters, made for some great steamy moments between this couple. A charming secondary cast added a great foundation to this work.
Louise Bay knows her way around difficult choices and unexpected love as she adeptly shakes up hearts and status quos. This author crafts their works with compassion, humor and big heaps of conflicts for addictive reading experiences. Kylie Scott comes to the rescue armed with all her charm, wit and insight for a brilliant read in Fake!
A movie star trying to put out a career damaging scandal and a hard working waitress, embark on a mutually beneficial fake relationship and get more than they bargained for. Deliciously broody Patrick was nicely offset by Norah's witty openness. The building of this pair's business relationship to a friendship to a romantic couple was wonderfully done. All the interactions in this work were perfectly designed and nothing about this book felt like filler. Adding to this story's appeal was both characters were equally likeable allowing the audience to get completely behind them. The heart of this story was this couple's genuine exchanges, each one was a moment.
Kylie Scott always seems to know how to convey real world problems in extraordinary circumstances. Her characters are constantly interesting and it is never a far stretch to stand in their shoes but even more so to fit in their dresses. Her portrayals are always relatable even from lofty heights and the potential for readers to feel as if the scenarios they are reading about could be obtainable is typically something they depart with. It is hard not to fall deeper in love with Karla Sorensen's writing with each new book she writes. Forbidden strips off the fronts and pulls out the vulnerable like only this author can. Overcoming pasts that lingered in the present, the feelings expressed from Aiden and Isabel moved this story right off the pages and directly to their audience complete with nervous butterflies and sweaty palms.
Isabel and Aiden were compatible and similar on so many levels yet Ms. Sorensen managed to communicate their uniqueness without falling into the trap of creating identical versions of two different characters. The pent up desire between this pair was off the charts. The yearning and awkwardness between Aiden and Isabel was both sweet and painful to watch even while visiting a place most can relate too. This couple was genuine and the pain they carried translated to readers vividly.
There was a beautifully devised dynamic not only between this couple but also between Aiden and his daughter Anya and Isabel and Anya. While charmingly sassy there was a strong undercurrent of poignancy to Anya that often provided a mirror in its transparency to Aiden and Isabel's feelings. One of the best set of nicknames to show up in a story in a long time was the father daughter one in this story!
Karla Sorensen creates works that are gorgeously candid. Filled with heartfelt humor and sensitivity this author provides well-rounded snapshots of her portrayals that when gathered together evolve into amazing stories. The conclusion of the wonderful Ward Sisters series was bittersweet but luckily Ms. Sorensen felt the same and will be bringing to her readers another spinoff from the prolific Bombshell Effect universe in the near future! Forbidden, worth giving in to the temptation and grabbing at Karla Sorenson's fabulous HEA!

Through the Ashes

Author Website: http://juliawolfwrites.com/author/julia/
5 Stars
In Julia Wolf's Through the Ashes a tragedy unleashes a chain of events that causes those left behind to rethink everything they think they know for a touching story filled with emotion.
This work had a lot of little twists that kept readers on their toes. Asher and Bex both were not who they appeared to be upon first glance and their often unexpected revelations and actions kept the pace of this story fast and interesting. Set up to be enemies it did not take long for the audience to see that things were not that simple and their relationship was never black and white. The attraction between this couple was more than superficial and the more they got to know each other the more they grew to like each other despite some very contrary behavior on both their parts. Part of the appeal of this work was how in moments of cruelty it was impossible to fully vilify anyone. The depth of pain both Asher and Bex felt was complex and the lack of guidance they each had in navigating incredibly difficult circumstances showed this author's skill and deep understanding of her portrayal's motivations.
One of the traits that Julia Wolf has shown in her Savage Crew series is versatility. Even while she maintains the core of who she is as a writer her distinct style is able to mold around new sub genres with ease. Bringing her insight and sensitivity to vastly troubled characters she proves she gets "it "and them sharing moving stories with compassion. Through the Ashes was so much more than a bully romance and a great addition to any one's reading list!

Wycked Redemption
By: Wynne Roman
Release Date: May 25, 2021
Publisher: Wynne Roman
Author Website: https://wynneroman.com/
5 Stars
One thing Wynne Roman does well is peeling back her characters insecurities and exposing them to her audience. With glaring flaws her portrayals become accessible in their humanity to anyone who has a heart. Wycked Redemption, book six in the Wycked Obsession series, is bassist Zayne Prescott's story and addiction is his cross to bear or savior depending on how you look at it. With the burden of a destructive and cruel past drugs shielded him from its harshness even while they little by little destroyed his soul.
Zayne's battle with his demons throughout this series has been one of blatant debauchery and his dangerous descent was destructive, bordering on irreparable. His dark spiral as he sought escape from his pain was brutal to watch play out. The collateral damage to the ones he loved was vast but never came near the despair and raw pain he inflicted on himself. Readers might hate what he did but it was nearly impossible to walk away from this character without feeling his suffering and feeling infinite amounts of sympathy. The love and concern of his friends reinforced that he was worth fighting for even as he sunk deeper into his darkness making his journey all the more heartbreaking.
Grace was a portrayal riddled in contradictions, on one hand she could be incredibly strong and by the next page she could be crippled by her lack of self worth. There was no playing the victim in her behavior, it was a genuine struggle that taunted her and put up a barrier to her moving forward in life. Ultimately it was her acute sensitivity and perception that brought her to a genuine love and exposed her backbone of steel that surprised even her.
Zayne and Grace were complex portrayals that required intensive research and exposure to harsh light showing the darker sides of their psyches. Both of these characters were far from perfect and that is what made them incredibly interesting as they shattered rose tinted glasses and held mirrors up to their faces questioning their own choices and self worth. Their attraction and compassion toward each other complimented their issues and gave each of them someone capable of breaking through the barrier of their personal struggles. When they each had breakthroughs they were powerful events because their experiences were handled so vividly by this author.
Wynne Roman consistently brings exceptional characters to her audience. This author does not hide the ugly but wears her creations scars with gentleness under harsh scrutiny. With an absorbing writing style that easily pulls readers in, Ms. Roman is an author whose works are intense, powerful and all around wonderfully put together. Wycked Redemption shows the hope at the end of a dark path paved with Wynne Roman's insight and fabulous storytelling!

Kate Meader's grump whispering came out full force in the Dear Roomie for a great read that will leave readers with heart smiles!
Reid Durand had no idea he was in for a reluctant love fest when he was traded yet again to the Chicago Rebels. Known for his determination and less than cuddly disposition this author had her work set out for her in warming him up. With the introduction of the sunny dog walking, barista Kennedy and the absolutely fabulous rescue dog Bucky Reid's inner hero busted out and his evolution into a man with a visible heart took hold. Kennedy was the perfect catalyst to bring out the best in Reid and the sparks between them kept this story moving fast. With lots of difficult family dynamics for both Reid and Kennedy to deal with this was a complicated story. The interactions between Reid and Kennedy were charming and held up to whatever situation they were dealing with. This author's secondary cast fueled this work and gave a solid foundation to this plot.
Kate Meader does depth well. She devises multifaceted characters with ease and integrates all their traits seamlessly. Her ability to go from light to dark realistically and with kindness speaks to her ability as an author. Dear Roomie, Kate Meader at her best!

L. Wilder checks in with beloved characters like nobody's business and Falling for the President's Daughter brings readers back home to the roots of Satan's Fury MC!
Flynn and Lauren were a great addition to the Fury world. This couple each had a troubled past and it was their friendship that anchored them and kept them steady so when the banked feelings that always existed between them were fanned the sparks were not only expected but encouraged. This was a touching story and Ms. Wilder mixed things up by bringing Flynn into the Satan Fury fold without her converting him to the club yet still contributing to it. The friendship that this love built upon was lovely to watch grow and remain strong even as both Flynn and Lauren traveled their own paths before reconverging when the timing was right.
As to be anticipated with this writer there was a suspenseful subplot that was part of this romance and moved it along to a spectacular finish. Always showing the tender sides of her bikers alongside their brutal sides, this author does not get complacent in showing the reality of the world her characters live in.
Reading L. Wilder can be deceptively casual as everyday conversations fill the pages but this is her meeting and greeting her audience with her characters and giving them a personal investment in their stories. Every one of this author's stories brings emotions to the forefront and it is impossible to pick up one of her books without going all in! Falling for the President's Daughter brings all the warmth of a reunion coupled with edginess of L. Wilder's bikers for another fantastic ride with the Satan's Fury MC!

Siobhan Davis just pulled off the perfect storm of crazy, boundless, extreme love in the All of Me Duet and it was impossible to walk away from!
Every character in this work stood out and in classic Siobhan Davis form, what you see is not necessarily what you get. The truths that hid and the lies that haunted this story were jaw dropping and more often than not heartbreaking. There was no shortage of tears in this work and the laughs, while rare, were treasures. Filled with wonderfully devised interactions there was meaning to everything in this story. Anna B. Doe brings the pressures of life and love to readers in Kiss To Defy, book 3 in her Blairwood University series.
Hockey player Zane and figure skater Rei's first encounter started off on the wrong foot causing them to spend a lot of time working through their initial poor impressions of each but the one thing that was accurate from the start was their mutual attraction. There was a constant simmer accompanying their exchanges that charged the pages. Once this pair got past the barbs and shields they had put up they found out that they were extremely compatible on many levels leaving them open to all kinds of emotions and options they had not considered before. Both leads lead fairly isolated existences either by circumstances or choice and their breaking through to each other while at first was hesitant once they were exposed to each other the joy and wonder of their closeness took over.
This book began with Zane and Rei working through their walls with each other and to some extent others, gradually moving into their growth individually and as a couple as external drama prompted them and exposed their vulnerabilities. There were lots of secrets and heartache revealed as this work progressed and that really accelerated this story. Ms. Doe was very in touch with her portrayals and easily expressed complicated feelings and actions with sensitivity and insight. Great camaraderie and interactions with the secondary cast rounded out this work and added to this story. This author put a lot of thought into her work from the technical aspects to her characters interpersonal dynamics. It was apparent Ms. Doe was invested in telling Zane and Rei's story even as she allowed them to stumble, showing their unique journey and adding to the depth of her work.
What really stands out with this author's writing is her clarity in showing the problems unique to being a young adult. She zeroed in on the struggles of two individuals accomplishing extraordinary goals yet plagued with universal doubts. Any of Ms. Doe's readers could have gone through or emphasized with what her characters were going through, making her portrayals relatable and believable. In a Kiss to Defy Anna B. Doe brings out not only her characters emotions but her readers for an intense and satisfying read!

It was impossible not to be taken in by the charm of this works leads Leif and Anna. Joined together by a horrific accident that left both with visible and hidden scars this couple's journey was engrossing. Leif and Anna pushed and pulled the best out of each other as they each learned to come to grips with a life event that was both horrific and transformative. The empowerment they gave each other enabled them to move forward from the shock of having their lives shaken up. Full of stumbles, the lives of this pair progressed with the balance they provided each other for some really touching interactions. The witty banter in this work was off the charts and was so much fun to watch play out, it came as organically as the tears that flowed.
The whole premise of waking up from a coma to find that the event weeded out all the superficial elements of your life was well done. What Anna thought was a successful life was really settling and what could have been a tragedy ended up being the best thing that could have happened to her in many ways after her seven month coma "pause." Leif was a gorgeous clown with a lot of sensitivity and insight hidden behind his wit and easygoing manner. Haunted by past events he struggled to find his way despite his outward confident appearance. Leif was really a wonderful romantic lead with just the right amount of light hearted to offset his passion and make readers swoon alongside Anna. With a steady flow of interesting occurrences and catalysts to keep things interesting this was a captivating story from start to finish.
What continues to stand out with Kylie Scott is her portrayals are not generic. This work like Ms. Scott's others had lots of moments that were unique to her story and it's characters giving it a distinctive voice. Publisher: Shauna McDonnell
Author Website: https://shaunamcdonnell.com/about/
5 Stars
Hope, book four in Shauna McDonnell's 4Clover series, takes readers through the depths of despair and back for an emotional read.
Conor Maguire seemed to have it all but he lived a half life caught up in a past that held his heart. The struggle he had to embrace the joy in life was heartbreaking. Cassie Davis had a past that made it difficult to move forward even as she strived to do so. When these two lost souls met each other the connection was electric which both invigorated and terrified them. The processing of this pair's feelings from dealing with their attraction to the angst over their desire to move on was intense. Standing out with this couple was their kindness to each other and their recognition of the pain they each felt. This author did a wonderful job of not minimizing Conor and Cassie's feelings for their first loves even while showing that while the love they developed for each other was different than their first it was just as significant, there was no settling or second best. The conversations throughout this work were meaningful and moved this story forward adeptly.
Often when you come across a series later in it's progression the earlier books tend to take a back seat to the current work in the review process but in the case of Ms. McDonnell's 4Clover series the previous books merit mentioning. Each book was well put together and thoughtful, the perfect mix of humor and heartache. As the last book in the 4 Clover series, Hope, tied things up it did not take long for it to sink in what a great series this author put out. Each book took readers on an individual journey even as readers experienced the overall evolution of the band spanning across the series. It was clear from book one onward that Shauna McDonnell writes with her heart. Her stories are filled with genuine emotion that shows a depth that translates well to her audience. The easy flow of her writing makes her work approachable as well as absorbing. With an abundance of thoughtful interactions her works are anything but trivial and give readers a glimpse into the full potential awaiting them from Ms. McDonnell. Cassandra Robbins spins off her Disciples series for a captivating start in book one, Rise, of her Rock God series.
Rhys Granger was the guy that Gia Fontaine had always loved yet it was not an easy love and the road to a HEA with this pair was filled with considerable obstacles. Ultimately a significant age gap kept Gia's unrequited crush on Rhys in check until the gap narrowed and the attraction combusted. This was no superficial interest or casual fling that this pair shared. Their interactions were littered with history including the fact that Rhys' was best friends with Gia's older brother who was not in favor of them being in a relationship. This was an agonizing love that faced so many stumbling blocks it was impossible not to feel the pain and frustration of these portrayals. Both Rhys and Gia's lack of communication and miscommunications fueled their torment and in the end this played as big a part in this couple's separations as outside influences. Some people are meant to be together and it was apparent this was true of this pair but not without them putting up a good fight and doing everything in their power to sabotage their fated love.
Rhys took on the role of the rock and roll bad boy with ease. The wild side of his rock and roll lifestyle was not shown with rose tinted glasses but as a more destructive lifestyle where limits were pushed and often brought out the less than flattering side of the characters in this work. His path without a grounding force was taking its toll on him and those around him physically and mentally. Gia took her initial attempt at a relationship with Rhys as a cautionary tale for going forward. Tough and surrounded by defense mechanisms to protect her wounded heart Gia was a force to be reckoned with. Theirs was an inescapable draw. Both knew the allure of a true passion as their art drove them but it was their love for each other that was meant to sustain them and give them longevity in the paths they chose. Ms. Robbins did a great job of showing this couple's conflict in all its forms.
Cassandra Robbins is a writer easy to get caught up in. Her works are high on the emotion but she accompanies it with storylines that are intriguing and give the emotion somewhere to play out for amazing reading experiences. Edgy is where this author thrives and imperfect characters shine in her writing. Rise was full of all the great stuff that makes a Cassandra Robbins story what readers keep coming back to!

Karla Sorensen introduces readers to a greatly anticipated new generation in her Washington Wolves universe with The Lie for a wonderful start!
Dominic Walker was a troubled bad boy with just as much attitude as talent struggling with secrets and pain that he held close. Faith Pierson brightened everyone's life that she came in contact with, never taking advantage of the privileges that came with being the team owner's daughter even as she hid her own pain and vulnerability.
When Faith was tasked with taking Dominic in hand the attraction that sparked between them was unsettling. Angst followed this couple like a cloud and the genuine caring they developed for each other despite their unknown connections was a nice twist and touching. As this pair spent more time with each other the unexpected connections that they uncovered gave this work a special feel. Faith and Dominic seemed to have been waiting all their lives for the moment they would meet and fulfill their destined love. Breaking through walls they each built in self-preservation and embracing their potential as a couple kept this story moving in a quick and engaging manner. The casual updates and cameos Ms. Sorensen snuck in about former characters was a bonus to followers of the Washington Wolves books but in no way were they a deterrent for new readers of this author.
Sorensen brings a well-written emotional story in The Lie showing that the Washington Wolves universe is far from depleted in stories waiting to be told. Introspection and flaws are not shied away from with this author but rather make her characters compelling. This was a read that cared and continued to bring the sense of community among this writer's characters that is part of her appeal and felt natural. While the next generation of Karla Sorensen's Washington Wolves books has a lot to live up to, The Lie was a great start!

Building on a life long friendship Kaylene Winter gives readers an epic love story in book four of her Less Than Zero series Timeless.
Zane Rocks and Fiona Reynolds never knew a moment that they did not love each other. The children of best friends, their friendship and love seemed inevitable. Yet the saying sins of the fathers held true of this pair as Zane and Fiona from an early age found themselves carrying the burdens of their parent’s dysfunction. Zane found comfort and a way to express his sensitivity in music even as he carried the weight of others' misguided and selfish decisions on his shoulders. Fiona, like Zane, bore the weight of other's pain, poor decisions and lashing out at the sacrifice of her own happiness. Theirs was a love that in it's purity carried them through the corruption of other's actions. Fiona fought to not be relegated to the wishes of others and Zane often used his hard earned wisdom to help others.
What stood out in this work was the loyalty and devotion Zane and Fiona had for each other and their deep rooted love. There was an incredible caring and forgiveness component to this couple's dynamic that defied miscommunication and poor decisions and showed the depth of their relationship throughout this work. Even when they made choices that were not in the other's best interest or hurt each other they always found a place to embrace the other and move past consequential moments that redirected their journeys but not their hearts. Fiona and Zane were genuine good people, affording readers the latitude to see the grey areas in their judgments of questionable actions and decisions. Ms. Winter exemplified all the stumbles and heartbreaks of true love even as she showed its power and endurance. This pair was exceptionally sweet and poignant in their interactions and never gave readers a hesitant moment in questioning whether these characters should be together or their love for each other.
Kaylene Winter shows a great deal of insight and sensitivity in her portrayals. Her depiction of fractured families and friendships always feels authentic and not a fabrication to build drama into her works. The past's ability to impact the future and six degrees of separation are done skillfully by this author for complex and meaningful reads. This writer creates characters that touch her audience and who readers feel invested in. Kaylene Winter's Timeless was an amazing story that tied up this well put together series in the grand manner it deserved even while achieving a solid fan base to launch this author's future works, a recommended Jenerated Reviews read!

Review: Forgotten Legacy series books 1-3: Tattooed Memories, book 1, Shattered Expectations, book 2 and Guarded Addiction, book 3
L. Ann takes readers on a wild and memorable ride with her seductive rockers in books 1-3 of her Forgotten Legacy series!
Friends with a long history, these Rocker's were no strangers to hardship despite their success as a band. Entangled in their past their fame did not make their lives easier but often compounded it with their dysfunction for some raw and poignant portrayals. Stories filled with self-sabotage and floundering confidence conflicted with phenomenal talent and achievements. Overarching suspense and twisty plotting were done skillfully by this author as she created impressive intricately interwoven storylines. It was clear from the start of this series that L. Ann knows her way around drama and angst with the powerful emotions she expressed throughout her works. Her handling of dark subject matter was done with sensitivity and kindness. These were not superficial reads but layered with massive amounts of information and insight. This author's couple interactions were all-consuming and meaningful and her wonderful messy, steamy, authentic relationship's made these works stand out for some well earned HEA's.
L. Ann's Forgotten legacy series was so easy to get caught up in with it's intrigue and intense dynamics. Suspense, unfinished history, torching attractions with a bit of the forbidden, this is a series you do not want to pass by and is the perfect set up for a binge read. With riveting writing, complex plotting and robust portrayals the Forgotten legacy series has it all and would be a great addition to any TBR pile!

Exquisite Scars moves readers on to the next leg of the Forgotten Legacy journey for an intense and emotional read!
Luca Tallorico, drummer of Forgotten Legacy, always knew how to have a good time until he did not. He carried his pain deep and lived in a state of self inflicted torture. Small town librarian Everleigh Johnson lived a life in the shadows never dreaming that she could be more than a burden and afterthought. When this couple found each other they were at a point where their tragedies started to define them rather than moving past them.
Wrong number, right time Luca and Everleigh's introduction may have been happenstance but quickly evolved into soul mate territory. This couple took ownership of their story from the start and brought all the angst and joy of not only discovering a new relationship but themselves in the process. There was a lot of personal baggage carried by this pair but instead of their relationship holding them down it gave them the strength to tackle it, a lot of emotional healing took place in this work. The kindness this couple displayed toward each other was as touching as it was powerful.
L. Ann not only continues to build upon the friendships of her Forgotten Legacy band members in Exquisite Scars but this series as a whole. Full of suspenseful undertones, her works are impassioned and captivating. This writer has a strength for working through the ups and downs of relationships. With thoughtful writing L. When an NHL star gets a lift from a horror prop artist in the middle of the night on a desolate road you know this is not going to be your average meet-cute. The attraction was there and the humor that always accompanies Teagan Hunter works was on full force. Filled with charming interchanges and cameos from some of this author's past couples this story was bound for success. The mishaps and miscommunications were abundant and the antics were standout. Collin and Harper simmered until they were on fire and there was no doubt this couple was meant to be from the very first moment they met. There was a sweetness in how accepting of each other this pair were and this author did a great job of showing that over and over in this story.
Teagan Hunter excels at eccentric couples and this work continued in this vein. She celebrates quirky and is all-inclusive in her depictions excluding no one because they march to their own drum. She finds her character's tribes and gives everyone the love they deserve and reader’s stand out portrayals. Puck Shy is a great start to hopefully many happily ever afters in Teagan Hunter's new Carolina Comets series!

Next Time I Fall
By: Scarlett Cole
Release Date: November 16, 2021
Publisher: Kadelo Group Ltd
Author Website: http://www.scarlettcole.com/
5 Stars
With sensitivity and hope Scarlett Cole forges on with Next Time I Fall, the second installment of her Excess All Areas series, for a great addition!
If anyone could turn someone who seemed destined for villainy and self sabotage into not just an anti-hero but a full-fledged hero it is Scarlett Cole. Coming into this work the outlook for Jase Palmer, lead singer and walking disaster, was not looking good. His previous interactions in book one of this series, One Day Like This, were fraught with discord and anger and a stream of seemingly endless petty behavior. Jase was someone who shielded his pain and inner wounds with a bravado that most saw as arrogant and not worth the time to question. Yet with caring and chances this writer brought out a side of this character hidden by other's prejudicial perceptions that allowed him to take ownership of his path and give him a chance to not only show his potential but actually reach it.
Cerys Hughes-Bexter was the barely acknowledged daughter of legendary music producer Jimmy Bexter. A musical talent in her own right, Cerys decided to reach out to her father in the hopes that the experience of working with him would open doors to her own career aspirations and a real relationship with him. Quickly she discovered that she had her work cut out for as she fought to be acknowledged not only as Jimmy's daughter but for the skill set she brought with her. As so often is the case with Ms. Coles's heroines, they come with many strengths both obvious and hidden, Cerys was no exception. With tenacity and a smile she took on the obstacles put in front of her, including the sullen lead singer of the Sad Fridays. This character was wonderfully vulnerable yet capable at the same time. Taking chances and standing by her instincts and conclusions Cerys was someone willing to fight for what she believed in.
The dynamic between Jase and Cerys was genuinely sweet and touching, even as they generated a significant amount of steam. As they each took the time to truly see each other they evolved into a once in a lifetime love without losing their credibility by ignoring their personal baggage. They pushed and pulled each other, challenging themselves all the while and forming a bond that made them near invincible even in their weakest moments. Their ability to see the other's need to reach their personal goals and keep their individuality even while merging into a relationship was well done by this author.
Scarlett Cole taps into dysfunction and pain like a direct hit to the heart. Feelings come pulsing out of her work and every decision, good or bad, feels like a jolt keeping her stories compelling to her readers. This writer's audience never feel like they are walking away at the end of one of her books with anything but her very best. Next Time I Fall brings all of Scarlett Cole's enormous talent to the forefront for a great read!

Stacey Lynn explores what happens when friends with benefits evolves into something more than casual in Game Changer for a thoughtful story full of missteps and heart tugs.
When pro hockey player Garrett Dubiak finds himself being ghosted by his best friend and occasional hookup, Lizzie, he questions their relationship as his feelings and Lizzie's seemed to be at different places. Three months later the floor drops out from under him when Lizzie contacts him to let him know she is pregnant. This is where Ms. Lynn takes her story to the next level as lighthearted fun gets real fast. A tremendous job was done by this author of tackling the breach of trust between Garrett and Lizzie warring with a deep seated unacknowledged love. The vulnerability of this couple as they examined what they each wanted versus taking responsibility for their pregnancy was well thought out and genuine. Ultimately their decisions were more in line with doing what was right for the situation rather than sacrifices. As they both got over the shock of the pregnancy their shared commitment was well put together and believable.
While lack of communication plagued this couple in the beginning, giving them more than one sleepless night, they worked their way through multiple issues and ended stronger because of it. It was easy to see why Lizzie fell in love with Garrett as demonstrated by his kindness and his stepping up to their challenges. Lizzie in turn was able to see past her initial fear and accept not only Garrett as her co-parent but as the man she loved and who was worth fighting for. There was a level of maturity that grew between this pair that was really nice to see play out.
Stacey Lynn brings relatable situations and emotions to her work that not only stand out but speak to her audience. This author does not deliver easy but relationships with layers and challenges. Game Changer gives love a push with unexpected events that made for a great story.

Siobhan Davis concludes her Mazzone Mafia trilogy with bold moves and tender moments for a fitting and memorable finale.
Life had been less than kind to Alessandro and Serena so their finding comfort in each other beyond their physical attraction came as a blessing and gift to their battered souls. Each bore the weight of abuse yet managed to live lives where they demonstrated kindness in the often cruel lifestyle they lived. Alessandro's seemingly infinite patience and ability to protect and love Serena unconditionally was as powerful as it was touching to watch. Serena coming into her own and tapping into her inner strength gave readers a heroine they could love right along with Alessandro. This couple's slow simmer was intense and perfectly played out. The twist this author is known for kept this story moving well and made for more than one suspenseful moment.
Siobhan Davis is such a versatile writer even while maintaining a singular writing voice. The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea

Publisher: Elizabeth O’Roark
Author Website: https://www.elizabethoroark.com/
5 Stars
What happens when you are in the right place but with the wrong brother? Elizabeth O'Roark spins this scenario for an emotional read filled with longing.
Pop Star Drew Wilson struggled with her self worth at every turn, culminating with her persistent mismatch with her on again off again boyfriend, rock star Six Bailey. Her constant battle within to not second guess herself and allow others to diminish her left her like the walking wounded, seemingly getting punches from all sides from people she would expect to be supporting her. Yet Drew's strength was not just surviving an endless onslaught of disfavor and abuse but being successful, proving over and over again just how strong she was and how wrong her detractors were. Joshua Bailey's solution to other's expectations for him was to leave, literally to another continent. Full of integrity he held himself to high standards even while denying his heart's true leanings. Joshua embodied being a good person and yet he often did not afford himself the same caring he gave others.
Drew and Joshua from the start fought an irresistible physical attraction, yet when forced to spend time with each other they realized their attraction went much further and that they actually enjoyed spending time with each other on multiple levels. A great job was done by this writer of tapping into this pair's unique energy and translating it to her audience. The exchanges between Drew and Joshua were always more than superficial and were extraordinarily well done. The angsty simmer between them was a page turner and moved this story quickly. The recognition of Drew and Joshua's pain by each other and how it served as a catalyst for their individual transformations and moving on from places they had outgrown was done adeptly by this author.
Elizabeth O'Roark's writing is all encompassing. Her dialog is multidimensional and full of nuances which are perfectly identified by this writer and effortlessly delivered to her readers. Her witty exchanges are among some of the best out there, but coupled with her portrayals underlying emotions it just does not get any better. She has an ease at showing all her portrayals sides leaving no facets unseen. Ms. O'Roark gets her characters and that makes her work extremely appealing. Getting caught up in Elizabeth O'Roark's The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea just may be the best escape of 2022!

Opposites collide Lauren Layne style for a great read and love where you would least expect it!
When NY socialite Victoria Townsend was charged with taking the surprise heir to billions and transforming him from unrefined to sophisticated in a matter of months the task seems insurmountable. Emotions running high and heads butting set the tone for this couple. With glaringly apparent differences they were initially blinded by what they had in common. Little by little as defenses dropped they got to know each other and not only opened up their minds but their hearts.
This pair was funny and intense, bringing into question each other even while being drawn to each other. The pygmalion component of this relationship was done well offering a sweet and occasionally steamy story that brought laughs, sighs and a liberal amount of poignancy. The push and pull of Victoria and Cain's attraction was as dizzying as it was exciting. An endearingly entertaining supporting cast enhanced this story.
It is hard not to be enchanted by Lauren Layne. Her heartaches are relatable, her dilemmas absorbing and her HEA's are dreamy. Lauren Layne is one of those authors you feel like embodies everybody's best friends in her writing. She writes incredibly witty and charming dialog and it is hard not fall right into whatever dynamic her characters are caught up in as a result. Dr. Luna "Lu" Sperling had a lot going on, from a highly colorful and dysfunctional past to an extremely difficult present. In B.B. Easton's latest work, Group Therapy, choices came into question under her author microscope for some terrifyingly enlightening revelations that will have her readers feeling despondent one minute and laughing out loud the next over her portrayals over the top mishaps.
When Lu found herself reluctantly pushed into the role as the ill equipped therapist of famous author Thomas O’Reardon, she knew she was taking on more than she could handle. Posturing as an expert at creativity and reining in her fan girl for a client who was suffering from writer's block she ran directly into a moral and ethical dilemma with her barely started career at stake. Bringing more than his fair share of baggage, both literally and figuratively, to this scenario was Thomas, a charming disaster waiting to happen.
From the start the dynamic between this pair was awkwardly steamy in the best possible way and kept readers wondering at any given moment what would happen next between them. While extremely witty there were significant poignant moments that kept this work's characters from being caricatures and giving this book a good balance. It was clear that Ms. Easton knows her way around the rom-com universe and excelled at tapping into the humor without being excessive and undermining her story. The secondary cast of this work was original and hilarious.
Nobody does escapades like BB Easton. Her lack of filter brings wonderfully raw feelings from one end of the spectrum to the other. This writer bares her characters' souls and finds a place to give love to all the outsiders of the world showing their worth with kindness and caring for some excellent unique stories. Group Therapy is B.B. Easton at her refreshingly irreverent best.

The Plan

Facing fears and taking chances loomed large in Karla Sorensen's The Plan for a touching story with a healthy dose of heat!
Social Media sensation Lydia Pierson was in over her head, reliving her recent accident on loop and losing her grip on her well managed life. Struggling to not only take back control of her life but to make sense of it with the new eye opening clarity she had of what she did not want to go back to, Lydia was literally trapped in the self imposed prison she had put herself in. Former football star Erik Wilder like Lydia was hindered with a trauma that he could not move past, barely living and reaching for comfort in avoidance.
When Lydia's father approached Erik to act as her bodyguard/chauffeur he unknowingly set Lydia and Erik on a path of recovery, opening the door to their potential both alone and together. As portrayals went both Lydia and Erik were wonderfully devised, their layers all contributing to characters that were authentic and captivating. The interactions between this couple was great in the contrast of Lydia feeling too much and Erik cutting himself off and feeling too little, each causing a serious upheaval in their imbalance. Two lives on hold, immersed in pain, battled to move past their misery for some intense moments. Erik's bristly exterior was a perfect foil for Lydia's overly enthusiastic approach to things, offering some wonderful conflict that was fueled further by their attraction. The witty exchanges between this couple highlighted the underlying pain they both were trying to deal with even while keeping this work from falling into total despair as more serious events and issues were dealt with. Limits were pushed regularly in this story and this pair's attraction was not a case of simmering but an unpredictable boil under the surface keeping readers constantly on their toes waiting for the explosion of feelings.
Beyond Karla Sorensen's skill at translating the special bond between her couples, her affinity for genuine family and friend dynamics is impressive. Things are not perfect in her stories but are beautifully pulled together for close introspective connections. This author does not minimize her character's damage but recognizes it and moves her characters forward scarred but full of potential. Karla Sorensen did a tremendous job of bringing her story from a place of hopelessness to one of optimism and unexpected love in The Plan for a great read!

False impressions and a series of mishaps take readers on a charming trip of falling from hate to love in Sara Ney's The Player Hater!
Juliet is anything but excited as she heads off on a "bonding" trip to get to know her best friend Mia's boyfriend Thad, who she has already labeled a player and is mired in her preconceived notions of the kind of person he is. Joining the trip is Davis, Thad's best friend and the last person Juliet wants to spend time with based on her carry over assumptions about Thad. When Juliet and Davis are forced to share a "glamper" things could not be further from ideal for either of them.
Starting off with Juliet drooling in her sleep in front of Davis things escalated into one chaotic calamity after another. Making matters worse Juliet and Davis soon realized that not only were they the unpaired pair but they were reluctantly attracted to each other. Between heads butting with well-timed regularity, over the top antics and witty banter this couple kept this work lively. Juliet's grumbly, in your face persona was perfectly offset against Davis' cup half full approach to most things. There were lots of funny, flirty interactions that lead this couple to eventually see past prejudices and take a chance on seeing who they each really were. Filled with quite a few laugh out loud moments that flowed nicely without diving into exaggerated territory this was a fun story.
Sara Ney is one of the best orchestrators of hilarious romance out there. With quirky couples and plenty of funny quips it is hard to not have a smile on your face at some point when reading this author. The Player Hater was a sweet romance filled with all of Sara Ney's signature romance and wit!

Vaughn Tucker was at the peak of his success living a life of decadence and partaking with no boundaries in the rock n roll lifestyle laid at his feet. Studious and hardworking Gigi Hayes had goals and was well on her way to obtaining them, with a Social Worker degree within her sights. Two people could not have been more different outwardly. Yet when a random encounter brought them together there was no denying there was an inescapable attraction between them that refused to be ignored and fueled this story.
This was a work full of hidden depths and mountains of pain, as a cute-meet quickly intensified into powerful feelings with very real obstacles and consequences. There was so much more to Vaughn than the larger than life fun loving guy he fronted for the public just as there was so much more to Gigi than the serious by the books and in the books girl everyone associated with her. The emotions Vaughn and Gigi triggered in each other flooded this story and made for some really intense and heartbreaking moments. Despite an abundance of angst there was no shortage of real chemistry between this couple that was tempered with more lighthearted exchanges. As Vaughn dealt with a past burdening his future the strength of Gigi allowed him to find his way to a better version of himself even while allowing him to give Gigi the love she deserved. There was a nice contrast between Vaughn's sensitivity as an artist and Gigi's as a caregiver that complemented these two portrayals. This author did a great job of working through issues and ultimately putting her couple on equal relationship footing.
Julie Capulet proves to be an author who can handle and convey fierce emotions in her writing. With a multitude of insight Ms. Capulet shows she is not afraid to go to dark places even as she reaches for couple goals that we can all aspire to. Nashville Nights takes readers on a rough journey that will keep them caught up in this work until the very end and excited for what’s up next in the Music City Lovers series!

Kaylene Winter's Endless Encore embodies everything you would expect in a Rocker romance, the good, the bad and sometimes the very ugly. This book was a continuation of Ty and Zoey's original story, Endless, starting off slow and contemplative giving readers a chance to immerse themselves in this couple's feelings. By the second half of this book this author's audience was thrown into the full on meltdown of Ty. Readers could see Kaylene Winter shine as a writer as inner musings started to take form and suppressed emotions started to surface and escalate, set off by a series of difficult events. The volume of angst in this work was palpable and the tsunami of tragedies kept coming at a speed that made sure readers could understand why Ty was thrown off balance. There was no shortage of drama in this work. The deep connection of Ty and Zoey was put to the test in Endless Encore but their love was shown to be stronger than they gave it credit for. Of note this author did an admirable job of depicting mental illness.
Kaylene Winter does not do anything in half measures. Her stories are full of details and her emotional writing is immersive. Not only does this author personalize each of her cover couples but she creates social media and events bringing them to life. In the case of Endless and Endless Encore, well known romance book cover model Brandon Katz and his real life wife Tara Salerno are the faces of Ty and Zoey and could not be better casted. Luke Bryson the drummer of the Sad Friday's was on a spiral of self destructive behavior. Willow Warner was everyone's favorite social media influencer, yet struggled with who she wanted to be and who everyone thought she was. When a one night stand came back with a positive pregnancy test priorities changed. A deal to stay together for a year and then go their separate ways seemed like a simple solution until it wasn't .
This was a slow build up romance focusing not only on the main characters as a couple but individually. There was lots of introspection and dealing with personal baggage making this an extremely personal and emotional read. Luke and Willow had more in common than what people might see at first glance. Both were sensitive individuals muddling through mountains of hurt and dealing with parents who put their own interest before their children’s. How do you stand up for yourself when the very people who are supposed to take care of you take advantage of you? While Luke and Willow dealt with their hurt differently they did share a pain that held them captive. Luke's need to make sure everyone important to him was taken care of at the expense of his own happiness and Willow's compliance to the detriment of her happiness served as a bond for them. Both these characters held unrealistic expectations on their shoulders and it was not until they dealt with their burdens that they realized how damaging they were to themselves. Their recognition of each other's pain and the friendship and support that developed between them was as encouraging as it was heartbreaking. There was no shortage of poignant revelations and emotional moments in this work. This pair's physical connection was as steamy as their personal connection was touching.
Scarlett Cole excels at capturing heart-clenching moments, the ones that go to that place where her portrayals struggle with their inner fears and insecurities. Each of this author's books demonstrates a wide scope of understanding of her characters causing them to practically jump off the pages and making her stories richer because of this. How Good It Was shows just how good Scarlett Cole is as a writer, a definite must read!

Always Meant to Be

5 Stars
Siobhan Davis explores a connection that was timeless, defying obstacles and showing the power of love in Always Meant to Be for a truly touching story.
When Vander Henley and Kendall Hawthorne met their bond was immediate, like lost pieces fitting together. The issue was Vander was 17 years younger than Kendall and her son's best friend. To further complicate matters each had toxic ties to others. Initially their relationship was platonic, one of support and kindness as they intuitively felt an uncommon depth of understanding toward each other, but as time moved forward and circumstances changed there was no denying that what they felt for each other had evolved to a whole other level of attachment and attraction.
Siobhan Davis devised a beautiful story of soul mates finding each other in Always Meant to Be and that premise allowed her audience to get behind the significant age difference that existed between Vander and Kendall. Vander was not presented as a young boy but as an old soul possessing the strength and maturity of all his previous life times. There were moments in this work when circumstances pointed out the age gap between this couple but when they were together they were timeless making the difference in their ages insignificant joining one on one as equals and peers. With her usual flair for drama and villains Ms. Davis drove this story hard making this couple work for their happy ending. Unrepentant, this writer brought light to areas that lay on the fringes of what many might deem taboo yet proved that this love was more than acceptable.
There just is not anything Siobhan Davis writes that she does not put her whole heart into and it shows in every emotional word she shares with her readers. Some might say this author's specialty is intricate plot twist but her intense connections just might take top billing. Having a large body of work that is full of consistently wonderful stories, containing abundant surprises and couples to love, once again Ms. Davis' proves her talent and longevity. Siobhan Davis' Always Meant to Be will not only grab reader’s attention but ultimately their hearts!

Louise Bay brings the ultimate swoony grouch to Mr. Bloomsbury for a grudgingly passionate surrender to love.
Andrew Blake had boundaries, in fact this character was an emotional fortress. No one was getting close to him other than his few trusted friends and certainly not a love interest. Then came Sofia Rossi, with her determined pursuit of finding positive solutions for her rocky life even if it meant going toe to toe with the most difficult man she had ever come across. With witty banter, sizzling attraction and startling revelations this couple had no problem keeping up with each other, consistently keeping this story interesting. Andrew was a lesson in patience but worth every frustrating growl that he emitted just as Sofia was the kind of woman who was as charming as she was assertive, standing her ground and refusing to be a doormat. That this author was able to make this couple work shows the strength of her character vision and resulted in a fantastic dynamic that readers will love.
Louise Bay always does an amazing job of keeping her audience invested in her works and this shows in the interconnected world she has created her Mister series. It is virtually impossible not to be captivated by Louise Bay's stories and Mr. Bloomsbury drives that fact home for another wonderful love affair for her characters and readers alike. A sure bet for a favorite story Mr. Bloomsbury was head butting and hearts capitulating at its very best!

With a past entwined history Nix and Harleigh fight a future determined to keep them apart and a love that is willing to risk defying it in These Dirty Lies book one of the Darling Hill Duet.
Nix and Harleigh were the kind of couple you could not help rooting for even as they fell into doubt over their bond through miscommunications. This was not an easy relationship as each experienced hardships that went beyond their years and often coping skills. Nix and Harleigh each held a fragility that resulted after years of battling to stay strong and it was this trait that made them honest and poignant in their interactions. The pain they felt and showed in their most broken moments was heartbreaking. This was not a light hearted story but full of harsh truths and tragic events.
L.A. Cotton gets her characters and that shows in her writing. She has an unique ability to see the troubled minds and hearts of her portrayals reaching beyond social and economic boundaries putting everyone on equal footing in their angst. Beauty and the Baller

Publisher: Montlake

5 Stars
Full of serendipitous mishaps and wonderful exchanges Ilsa Madden Mills’ Beauty and the Baller brings joy and love in another one of her fated love stories!
There is nothing better than when an author plays matchmaker with two people that seem to have forsaken love and is successful. NFL star quarterback Ronan Smith could have been tragic after the curveballs that life threw his way but instead he faced his pain, fighting his fears and ultimately allowing himself to be vulnerable. For a guy with a broken heart he certainly had a lot of it to give whether it was his passion for football, the people he cared about or the woman who captured his interest, his beauty defied his scars both inside and out. This was one swoony hero, no wonder he had a whole town vying for his affections!
Lively and fun Nova Morgan marched to her own drum keeping her heart and mind open even after having been dealt more than her fair share of hard luck. This character with her unfiltered honesty and fabulous antics made every interaction she had in this work special. It was clear from the start how Ronan could fall under Nova's irresistible charm.
Ronan and Nova's attraction ran hot and heavy with just the right amount of salty to make the chase very amusing to watch play out. Who cannot get behind two fighters who use their broken hearts as their most fierce weapons in finding their happiness. Ms. Madden Mills did a great job of making this pair work for the inevitable and there was no shortage of perfectly timed absurdity to keep this story entertaining.
Hard choices and even harder decisions gave this story a solid foundation and made it more than a superficial romance. Each of the secondary cast in this work added so much to this story building on the depth of not only Nova and Ronan's pain but their happiness and everything in between. This author's small town feel translated perfectly adding unique little touches to show the community that made Ronan and Nova stronger both individually and as a couple. The saying that it takes a village could easily be applied to this book and Ronan and Nova finding their footing in their love story.
Ilsa Madden Mills knows her audience but more importantly she knows her characters and this comes through in her work every time. This was a standout work showing this author's love of her story with each word she wrote. Giving attention to small details that others might overlook, this writer shares traits that are core to her portrayals making this her writing superpower and elevating her stories to ones to cherish. Ilsa Madden Mills' sensitivity paired with her quirky humor is always notable but really shined in Beauty and the Baller giving readers a story that might just be almost as good as actually falling in love.

Siobhan Davis' no filter take on the intrigue and evil machinations of the underworld of the Mafia will keep her readers on the edge of their seats in Vengeance of a Mafia Queen!
The darkness of Catarina Conti that arose from unimaginable pain and abuse is put to the test in Vengeance of a Mafia Queen as she was faced with the unexpected in the form of Massimo Greco. This pair's instant attraction and Catarina's emotional dilemma drove this story for an intense and often brutal journey to a happily ever after. Ms. Davis was able to balance out not only Catarina's humanity but allow her to believably rise to the top in a world traditionally dominated by men. This was one strong heroine!
Massimo Greco had the depraved and corrupt legacy of his family to overcome as he took on the mantle of Don. His progressive attitude toward women contrasted beautifully with his ingrained need to take care of women making it impossible not to swoon over him even at his instinctive overprotective best. Massimo was not the kind of portrayal to be happy taking on the role of second in command but surprisingly he was willing to share his power as an equal with a woman he respected.
One thing that has become apparent with this writer is her versatility. No matter the subject matter she is all in and delivers fantastic stories filled with her signature jaw dropping revelations guaranteed to keep her audience spellbound. Siobhan Davis shows her strength at not glossing over and bringing difficult subject matter to her readers with a direct yet sensitive approach. 5 Stars
If you are looking for steamy out of the box crazy Shauna Mairead is your fix and she takes it to the very edge with sharp turns and amazing twist in Delectable Lies, the first book in her Kings of Killybegs series!
From the start this book took off for a wild ride. The unexpected soon became the expected as one revelation led to another and nothing was as it seemed. The pages were full of well-executed action that kept this work, for a good portion of it, cranked on high. This author played ambiguity like chess pieces insuring that readers would be guessing to the end and left with a lot of questions for Ms. Maired's next installment of her Kings of Killybegs.
This story centered on Saoirse, who had always led a life of uncertainty, moving regularly for almost the entirety of her life. It was the failure of her mother to be one step ahead of their past that threw Saoirse into a whole new world where she had to understand the dark agendas of the other players to survive. The Killybeg syndicate was a huge learning curve for Saoirse. With lots of misleading attractions and interactions it was all Saoirse or readers could do to keep up with the intrigue busting out of this work. Rohan and Liam, good guys, bad guys, either character could easily fit into those roles and their pursuit of Saoirse was as relentless as it was hot and heavy.
Shauna Mairead brings to her work plotting that is as sharp as it is irresistible. The saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer is a full on maybe in this story because from the start no one's status was assured thanks to the adept writing of this author. With a good sense of her characters this writer shared portrayals that were as interesting as they were memorable. Delectable Lies was the perfect rabbit hole to get caught up in, great read!

My Professor

Publisher: R.S. Grey
Author Website: https://rsgrey.com/
5 Stars
R.S. Grey delivers unrequited love, vague boundaries and histories that entwine in The Professor for a great read!
Gorgeous, cold and aloof Professor Jonathan Barclay was tortured and intimidating. His targeting of his student Emelia Mercier seemed arbitrary and cruel yet from the start this author instilled a lingering doubt that Jonathan was anything but how he appeared, setting the stage for an intense and complicated relationship. This author did a tremendous job of proving Jonathan's worth even while transforming some core personality traits that at first were unattractive to his advantage.
Emelia Mercier carried a past that haunted her yet drove her to reach her goals. Her sensitivity gave her a cautious and astute outlook on life that added to her love-hate relationship with Jonathan, preventing her from moving past him both personally and professionally. Emilia had a sophistication that was balanced well against her naivety and contributed beautifully to how her attraction to Jonathan evolved.
One of the things that stood out in this work was how Ms. Grey grew this couple's relationship as the character of Emelia matured. The back and forth dynamic of this pair gave this story a nice edge using underlying taboo and angst as a foundation. The emotions in this work were palpable and seductive to Jonathan, Emelia and readers alike, moving this story with a slow blistering heat and well-orchestrated interactions. This couple's attraction was made that much better with its battle between tentativeness and assertiveness.
R.S. Grey's writing overflows with feelings and depth. Her plots are three-dimensional with each layer building a story that shows that you can never take her portrayals at face value. Filled with interactions that are as interesting as they are meaningful, this author knows how to captivate her audience. A standout Jenerated Reviews read, The Professor will exceed your expectations and leave you wanting more of R.S. Grey's wonderful stories!

Wicked Beauty

Author Website: https://www.kateerobert.com/
5 Stars
Katee Roberts takes well-established classic characters and makes them her own with fantastical twists and what ifs in Wicked Beauty, book three in her Dark Olympus series!
This story was full of suspense, intrigue and a whole lot of steam! Demolishing the status quo Ms. Roberts took the license that dealing with mythical characters affords and gave her audience a story that commanded her reader’s attention with her out of the box interpretations and modernization. The action scenes were off the rails and will keep readers on the edge of their seats! With well thought out character development every interaction was as interesting as it was spicy. From the start Wicked Beauty was impossible to put down.
At no point in this work was there a question of what there was to love about Achilles, Patroclus and Helen. Each character brought something to the table that amplified as a group. Achilles and Patroclus were friends and lovers that walked a fine line that both were careful to keep in place even though they both felt something was missing. Helen proved to be the perfect catalyst for change and when the three succumbed to their instinctive connection there was no doubt that they had reached the place they were meant to be.
Threesomes are not easy relationships to write without losing sight of someone along the way but Ms. Roberts managed to give all the characters involved equal status. This relationship's evolution was spectacular to watch and felt genuine even in its most emotionally confused stages. Compromises were in fact wins and the complicated dynamics of Achilles, Patroclus and Helen was done well as they went through the process of figuring out their roles to move forward as an intimate committed trio. While each person in the trio grappled with whether they could work as a relationship there was never any ambiguity as to the attraction they felt for each other in any capacity keeping a nice tension throughout this work. This writer was able to adeptly make smart alignments of her characters based on their strengths and weaknesses for a perfect trifecta.
Katee Roberts always explores interesting aspects of her characters taking them from their own comfort zones and testing their boundaries. With lively dialog and some heart racing physical encounters this book did not let up. Seeing strengths in all their forms is a great ability to have and Ms. Roberts makes all her portrayals formidable in their own way. Wicked Beauty is a book not to be missed!

Mr. Notting Hill

Publisher: Louise Bay

4.5 Stars
It is always fun to dig a little deeper into a stand out character and Louise Bay did just that in Mr. Notting Hill with Tristan's story.
Cyber genius and seemingly perpetual bachelor Tristan Dubrow was hard to pin down when it came to romance, that is until he literally crashed into feisty Parker Frazer. When a scheme to help Parker resulted in a fake marriage all bets were off. This pair was what happens when two eyes of a storm collide and their energy and attraction was insane. Each had emotional baggage that they avoided in their own ways and their attraction unlocked a Pandora's box of issues even while it gave them the opportunity to finally be free of their self imposed burdens. For all the great humorous moments in this work they were contrasted extremely well with generous doses of angst. A well devised suspense component and some undercover match making added to this story and served as a way to bring these two reluctant lovers their happy end game.
Louise Bay is so intuitive when it comes to her portrayals bringing genuine characters to her works that stand out with their versatility. There is always a nice mix of sensitivity played off of wit. This author excels in showing loyalty and camaraderie in her books. The depth of her works creates stories that are as endearing as they are captivating. Mr. Notting Hill concludes a great series on a high note and a fond farewell!

Love You Like That
By: Scarlett Cole
Release Date: May 17, 2022
Publisher: Kadelo Group Ltd
Author Website: http://www.scarlettcole.com/
5 Stars
Scarlett Cole is a writer who always stands out but when she shines she really shines and Love You Like That, book four in her Excess All Areas series, was blinding!
Alex King was so achingly hot the pages melted every time he took them over. Alex was complicated, progressive and one hell of a hero, you would want him by your side in your bed and most of all in possession of your heart. He stood out for not being perfect but for being kind, observant and being true to himself and advocating for those he cared about to be true to themselves. It is not often you find a hero so confident in himself that he gives his heroine the recognition and respect she deserves as an equal even while embracing the differences they have. This portrayal took a lot of abuse for being who he was and while painful at times it made him an exceptionally well adjusted person instead of a mess which was admirable all on its own.
Zoe, even while introverting and surrounding herself with substantial defenses to come to terms with her own hurdles, showed an incredible amount of bravery and strength. Bristly and off putting at times, once Zoe found her footing she was fierce, enlightening and a character that was as captivating as she was endearing. When Zoe realized that despite her ability to stand on her own, being capable of trusting and leaning on others while still maintaining her independence was not only empowering but freeing.
From the start it was apparent that Alex and Zoe were really well matched from their playful camaraderie, to their shared love of percussion, to their simmering physical attraction it was no surprise that they found their way to each other. Communication was so key in this pair's dynamic especially when juxtaposed against Zoe's fading ability to communicate by traditional means in the most basic way and Alex constantly battling to express his authentic self without abuse. As a couple they were true equals and partners who balanced each other by sharing the weight of their individual burdens. Alex and Zoe for all their success at being independent were two lonely people who spent a lot of their energy hiding their vulnerability and craving for, while resigning themselves to not finding, their person. This relationship blossomed when this pair opened themselves up to their potential not looking for the perfect person but the person perfect for them, someone who understood them on a whole other level and lifted them to their best place.
One of Scarlett Cole's strengths as a writer is she becomes her characters, meaning she does her research, finds out what makes her portrayals tick, so their triumphs, struggles and areas of expertise feel authentic. Sensitivity is always and foremost this author's goal when writing even when her characters do not experience kindness themselves, giving her readers stories filled with compassion not pity. Love You Like That, another Scarlett Cole story to fall in love with!

When Wrecked Meets Ruined will break your heart even as you piece it back together with Emery Rose's compassionate writing for an amazing experience.
For all his outgoing charm Ridge McCallister carried as much pain as potential struggling with his dysfunction brought on by a tragic childhood. If one person understood Ridges inner demons it was Evie Bellamy who had more on her plate than she could handle but somehow she managed to muddle through the chaos and cruelty that bombarded her on a daily basis. Covered in emotional armor and surrounded by walls Ridge and Evie's desperation for kindness and love made their road to happiness a hard one even in moments where it seemed they might just let themselves accept each other's love. Their emotional scars often made their attempt to love feel like they were grasping at the unobtainable.
When two people come from similar experiences it can be bonding or a complete disaster, RIdge and Evie's experienced a combination of the two, driving this story with angst and a true love that would not die proving it was meant to be. From tragic to triumphant there was little that did not elicit real feelings from this pair and readers alike. As can be expected from Ms. Rose tears were plentiful as Ridge and Evie found their way through life and to each other. Their relationship one where timing played a significant part, always the right person at the wrong time except for small pockets of perfect opportunities.
Ms. Rose does not make love easy. She makes her characters fight for their love and in kind she finds a way for them to get their happily ever after. There are no perfect lives on her pages but she sees hope and gives it even as her portrayals darkest moments surround them. Siobhan Davis takes on Easton and Bohdi Lancaster O’Donoghue’s sensitive coming of age years in Hold Me Close, book three in the All of Me series, for a compassionate and trying story. At a time in life with its fair share of angst under normal circumstances this author awakened past histories full of tragedy and secrets setting off an emotional powder keg. This was a touching update that did not hold back on the festering hurt and the repercussions of a past where Easton and Bodhi were innocent of but paid the price for the sins of their parents. With insight and astute observations this author led readers through volatile times and made everyone better for facing their truths and shared pain.
One of the amazing things about Siobhan Davis is that she keeps in touch with her characters with periodic check-ins. It is all too common when readers become attached to beloved characters that they are left in a perpetual limbo, left to their own imaginations to figure out how characters have moved on and evolved. Epilogues are great but often miss all the details that readers crave and make no doubt it keep them up many a night pondering the fates of portrayals they have grown to love. This is rarely the case with Ms. Davis and that shows not only her devotion to her portrayals but her readers. Still full of the unexpected twists readers have come to expect from this author, Hold Me Close is the next chapter not to be missed by Siobhan Davis!

Boyfriend Material, the second book in Ilsa Madden-Mills Hawthorne University series, is a romance that lets readers see that sometimes when bad things happen to good people they can rise to the top and get the happiness they deserve!
Eric Hansen, college hockey star and popular, on the surface it would seem that the world was at his feet and he had it all together, yet upon looking closer his standing was on fragile ground. This character vacillated as both the savior and the one needing saving as he walked that narrow margin teetering precariously from one side to the other. At first glance Eric's actions could often be construed as selfish and entitled but as readers were given a closer look at him there was so much more to Eric and his hero status solidified. Julia Lauren was an incredibly brave character. Her capacity to survive and see beyond her own problems was commendable, but it was her maturity in taking charge and understanding and not judging others struggles to the best of her ability that made her stand out.
Eric and Julia had a past that evolved into one of avoidance and secrets. While neither knew the personal burdens of the other or what made them make the decisions that put them where they were in the here and now their reconnection gave them a second chance at a missed opportunity with each other. Grappling with a tainted friendship and fighting their physical attraction this couple had a lot to overcome. Between Julia dealing with being a social pariah and crushing responsibilities and Eric giving up his dreams in a misconceived sense of duty to his family there was a lot to overcome both individually and as a couple for this pair. With a significant amount of self-sabotaging and an uphill battle with defeatism Eric and Julia's relationship was tested often for some heart wrenching moments. A great secondary cast rounded out this work.
Everyone has a story to tell and when characters are fortunate enough to have Ilsa Madden-Mills tell theirs readers can be assured of a work worthy of every hurdle her portrayals face and every laugh and tear that accompanies their journey. This author has the uncanny ability to tackle tough subjects even while allowing her audience to walk away feeling that they just experienced something special where good ultimately does overcome all in the end. Kindness and insight always manage to rise to the occasion in this writer's books making her stories that much better for it. Boyfriend Material shows that if any author could make you fall in love with a book it is Ilsa Madden-Mills!

Just when you think Elizabeth O'Roark can't get better along comes The Devil Gets His Due!
Keeley Connolly was such a well-put together character in all her chaos. Seemingly superficial she didn't even try to hide her true nature but most people took her at face value as she sought to deny herself all the things she craved, projecting an image of what she felt people expected of her rather than her true self. Despite her efforts to reach for the lowest of expectations, she still managed to rise to most occasions and was refreshingly honest. Keeley made no bones about what she said or did and took ownership of her actions. For someone who for all outward appearances seemed tough as nails she was vulnerable to the people who should have cared about her the most and was often their scapegoat and doormat.
Graham Tate was beyond cut off and with very good reason. Scarred from a childhood that many did not know about, to the world he appeared to be the epitome of success. His underlying insecurity was well masked by his sarcasm and aloofness. This all changed when the whirlwind called Keeley popped into this life. From the start there was no doubt even with the confrontational exchanges that this couple had that they were more than suited to each other and meant to be. From their kindness that ached to come out and find recipients to their gruffly expressed concern for each other, the chemistry between this couple was fierce.
Histories and facts often have a funny way of converging and allowing people to reevaluate their initial judgments and this was the case with Keeley and Graham. As their lives joined their wit became less acerbic and was more of a comforting bonding. Their similarities soon overcame their initial glaring differences. With only their instincts to guide them it was not unexpected to see this pair struggle with their growing feelings with no good role models for relationships and love to look to. As things came to light it was apparent that this couple's biggest challenge to love was not external forces but themselves. Ms. O'Roark's secondary characters were well placed and enhanced this work.
Joy and sorrow mix together effortlessly in Elizabeth O'Roark's writing. Her work has so much to offer and every word means something. This author approaches her stories in big gasping gulps for touching and interesting portrayals. Her character interactions are sublime and are in a league of their own. The Devil Gets His Due adds another great work to Elizabeth O'Roark's Devil series!

Recently Elsie Silver has been popping on the romance book scene everywhere. If you love down to earth characters that are fabulously vulnerable and completely captivating look no further you have hit the mother lode in Elsie Silver.
Heartless brings rancher Cade Eaton his HEA in a surprising and perfect way with the arrival of the last person he would have expected to trust as the nanny for his son and win over his heart. Gruff and gritty if a look could convey one thousand words Cade was your man. Free spirited with an unconventional background Willa Grant effortlessly won over Cade and his son with her kindness and inherent joy. With lots of avoidance of the mutual attraction between them, for a variety of reasons from their age gap to the attachment of a child in an unpredictable situation, Cade and Willa kept this story charged and steamy. Meeting in the middle with their unique styles of nurturing this couple was really well matched.
The banter and wit between Cade and Willa and as a whole with all the characters in this book was done exceedingly well and made this work stand out. The inclusion of children in a story can often make or break it but Cade's five year old son Luke was portrayed with sensitivity, accuracy and was age appropriately charming, adding a wonderful layer to this book.
Elsie Silver strips her characters down for emotional and revealing portrayals that are memorable. For every laugh out loud moment there are just as many tears balancing this author's works and making them relatable to her audience. Angst and happiness go hand in hand in Heartless for a touching story sure to win over the hearts of readers!

Chasing Riptides

Aly Stiles story Chasing Riptides will put your emotions in a stranglehold.
Matty Silva was so lost, to himself, others, the universe. His glimmers of hope and purpose were breathtaking but his continuous struggle to not spiral downward was agony. His push and pull with torment and hope and inability to see clearly in his judgments continuously circled this story. Matty's goodness and odd purity were an interesting contrast to his outward persona of reckless indifference and made for a character that readers will find hard to walk away from.
Britt Esposito deserves a singular WOW. There was no truer friend than Britt, wrapped up in brusque, brutal truths and nurturing belief and support. The magnitude of her love and devotion was staggering but more so her awareness and ability to call Matty on his behavior setting firm lines was as painful as it was touching.
Matty and Britt saw each other in a way that kept them as real. Their bond was both a curse and blessing as their true selves were transparent to each other but by the same token their fears and weaknesses were impossible to hide. As this couple came to terms with their evolving feelings their friendship was put to the test and their trust in each other was pushed to its limits. Revelations, faith and hope battled long held beliefs and despair making the dynamics in this relationship intense. The power of this pair's love was done extremely well by this author while still showing the significant holds their personal issues had on their fates.
Aly Stiles' levels of empathy and old soul insight are at times inspiring and other times disconcerting. She sees, hears and feels in her writing with a rare sensitivity displayed in beautiful words. She is an author the world would be a better place for reading one of her works and experiencing and conquering the pain she eloquently navigates. Chasing Riptides firmly establishes Aly Stiles as a go to author who continues to bring compelling stories to her audience.
