Authors L. Ann and Claire Marta join forces bringing bully romance to the next level in their introduction to their new Churchill Bradley Academy series Dare to Break!

A life of privilege versus a life of hardship found even ground in the individual struggles that formed and shaped new stepsiblings Eli and Arabella into who they were. Blinded by their own angst and combative interactions, misconceptions and anger triggered a series of decisions that paved the way to sinister machinations and inner conflict between them. The simmering attraction that went on with this couple added a great contrast to their hostility to each other leaving them constantly on the verge of combusting and keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The supporting cast was well developed and contributed greatly to this story rounding out not only Eli and Arabella but this work as a whole.

L. Ann and Claire Marta prove to be an excellent collaborative team and wonderfully insync in their writing and thought process. Strategic well thought out plotting kept this story on the edge and built up perfectly to the next work in this series. While having typical bully romance elements, what made this story stand out was its depth and literally vibrating with suspense. Layers of intrigue and feelings made this a deliciously emotionally exhausting trek to some dark places. These authors created a complicated and intense work that accurately captured the vulnerability and unease teenagers/young adults navigate with the at times seemingly insurmountable pressure of their peers for a dark, at times disturbing and always captivating story in Dare to Break. The next installment of Churchill Bradley Academy will not come fast enough for readers who take on this series!
