Fated kisses and true love take over the pages of I Promise You for another Ilsa Madden-Mills swoony romance!

Readers will be hard pressed to find a better hero to be loved by or a better hero to love, Dillion checked all the right boxes! The family he made with his friends and his still not seeing his worth brought a multitude of feelings into play and made for some poignant moments. Dillion caused a bunch of throat clumping throughout this work and Ms. Mills captured all his sadness and loneliness, his craving to belong but feeling unwanted and alone. Serena's open heart and endless sacrifice lead to her struggle to allow the one person capable of keeping their promise and deserve her trust, Dillion, to do so. This heroine's bruised faith in love and her sharp wit showed the depth of her wounds and her ability to reach beyond them. With a slow and cautious build up this couple circled their attraction for some feisty interactions but underneath their bravado existed so much pain and need. One of this author's strengths is great supporting casts and she delivered once again in this area.

College and immediately after can be a confusing time in life as the optimism of stepping out into the world to achieve your dreams wars with the limbo of the period spent preparing to do so, yet Ilsa Madden-Mills sees the paths of her characters at this point in life clearly. Vulnerability is abundant in her writing and mistakes and miscommunication are part of her portrayals learning curve. Her skill at joining her characters and finding commonality in very different people and complimenting differences makes her couples stand out in a field of many sparking her audience's undivided attention. In I Promise You Dillon and Serena took a chance at facing the unknown in grasping at love with each other but one thing readers can be assured of when picking up an Ilsa Madden-Mills book is her romances are always a sure thing!
