Mason Dell owes his life to his best friend Zack, who is in the navy, so when he gets an urgent request to check in on his friend’s little sister who is MIA he does so without question. Nicole McCormick is all about making sure her flower shop/boutique is a success and answering her personal phone is not always a priority. When Mason and Nicole have an instant connection can their desire to pursue it overcome individual troubled past that linger?
Stina Lindenblatt’s third book in her Pushing Limits series, I Need You Tonight, takes on Mason Dell, the band’s drummer and resident prankster. Mason put on a happy, carefree front but underneath there was a world of pain. Ms. Lindenblatt did a good job of showing Mason’s inner conflicts with his various addictions as well as his longing to move past them and reach for happiness with Nicole. Triggers were scattered throughout this plot culminating in a major relapse for Mason. This couple grew on a solid foundation that enabled Nicole to try and be supportive, rather than flee, when Mason collapsed despite her own history with an addict. There were lots of intense moments and extreme behaviors throughout this story but as a whole it worked. Strong writing carried this book and it’s characters to a hard earned good place and a solid conclusion for Pushing Limits, making it a series to explore!
