Book two in Kate Meader’s Chicago Rebels series, So Over you finds Isobel Chase dealing with her father’s legacy, his floundering hockey franchise, while coming to terms with her tragically prematurely ended promising hockey career. Vadim Petrov has risen to hockey super stardom and not even a knee injury can hold him down. When Vadim finds himself traded to the Chicago Rebels he and Isobel are forced to deal with their unfinished past and the feelings they can no longer ignore for each other.
Kate Meader not only writes great characters she gets them. As she roots out Isobel and Vadim’s deepest darkest secrets, fallible suddenly becomes the new “it” character trait. Reading this writer it is hard not to get caught up in her work as her leads encounter herculean moments of exasperation yet somehow find their way to resolution often with the help of some serious sexual tension. Finding love is often a complicated messy affair but this author narrows it down to the simple raw truth with humor, kindness and just the right amount of tragic moments in So Over You. Isobel and Vadim’s past history makes their interactions intricate giving this story a substantial foundation coupled with lots of unexpected plot twist handled expertly by this author. With a gift for capturing her readers attention with her exceptionally insightful portrayals Ms. Meader brings a unique take to romance. Between her wonderful writing and approachable stories there is just no one quite like Kate Meader!
