Collette Cameron’s Passion and Plunder
What appeals to me about Collette Cameron is she is not only a great writer but a storyteller as well. Her work is full of endearing adages and obscure historical facts that give her books the authentic feel that is so important to historical fiction. Humor ties in nicely in her tales, but never undermines important or dramatic events. To know a Collette Cameron character is to have one’s interest in them captured from the start. Her stories are full of richly depicted cast members that always leave an impression regardless of the role they play in her work. Romances that are sweet and meant to last leave her audience with genuine feelings of satisfaction and hope because Ms. Cameron extends the rapport that her characters share to her readers. With a charm uniquely her own Collette Cameron is a very good reason to read historical romance!
Passion and Plunder
By: Collette Cameron
In the fifth installment of Collette Cameron’s Highland Heather Romancing a Scot series the beautiful heir to the Laird of Tornbury Fortress must seek out the son of Craiglocky Keep’s war chief in order to safeguard her inheritance as her father lies on his deathbed. As secrets, danger and powerful attraction take hold can true love be a possibility?
Passion and Plunder’s Lydia Farnsworth officially joins the elite company of Collette Cameron’s exceptional heroines! Full of understated grace, whether confronting the challenges of leading her clan or coping with a multitude of losses, Lydia is a character readers will hold dear. You might think that no hero would be worthy of Lydia but along came Alasdair McTavish with his quiet strength and kind heart, no doubt the catalyst for many a page turned by means of dreamy sighs. Surprises and action set this story on a speedy course held steady by this couple’s unwavering devotion to each other and a lovely attraction that built further in their knowledge of their mutual support. Ms. Cameron’s writing embodies an old school refinement that she adorns with her unique playful humor and far reaching sensitivity for the ultimate reading encounter. To quote the beginning of this book “Life’s never predictable” and after reading another of this author works I can say that while life may not be predicable Collette Cameron’s stories are always predictably wonderful!

*While part of a series this work can be read as a stand alone.*
