Nathan James has lived in a torturous limbo for ten years as the killers of his father, girlfriend and his unborn child have continued to elude him. Tristen Carmichael has rebelled since her parent’s deaths and it is not until she is rescued from human traffickers that she realizes that she needs to take charge of her life for the better. Can two people trapped in the debris of their past find in each other the means to freeing their ravaged hearts?
Damaged Goods ushers in L. Wilder’s new Redemption series, loosely connected to her fabulous Satan’s Fury MC books. Nathan “Nitro” James has masked a world of pain behind his cold and efficient exterior for so long that he has forgotten what it is like to feel. When Tristen Carmichael’s own torment managed to crack his frozen exterior emotions that had long remained dormant started to leak out and L. Wilder extended them right to her readers for an intensely wonderful read. This author possesses a natural ease at presenting hard realities and giving her characters strength where many would think there was none. The affinity that Tristen and Nathan had for each other translated beautifully and brought about resolutions that had long evaded them when attempted on their own. As a couple Nathan and Tristen’s yearning for each other was at times heart-wrenching and at other times inspiring. Full of layers Damaged Goods brought out a story that was hard to put down as its characters rose above adversity to finally experience love with each other and readers alike.
