In Wynne Roman’s third book in her Wycked Obsessions series, Wycked Escape, readers get into the personal space of charismatic drummer Noah Dexter. A self-proclaimed man whore Noah’s wild sexcapades finally catch up with him and collide with his unresolved past. A second chance romance with lots of introspection, this was a first rate read.
The unexpected reunion of Noah with his High School sweetheart, Paige Hamilton, was full of a blistering hot chemistry past, present and future. Ms. Roman balanced her work well and adroitly walked the fine line of sharing less then flattering personal moments without succumbing to sugary sentiment to gloss over her characters short comings. A story of regrets and amends this author expertly handled exploring the gray areas, giving a wide perspective to her portrayals and the choices they made.
Noah was a contradiction, on one hand going from a seemingly endless stream of superficial sexual encounters to being a committed selflessly loyal friend to his inner circle. This hero kept his audience guessing on how to label him for a large part of this work. Paige’s struggle with wanting to please everyone at the expense of her own happiness came at huge cost to her in every aspect of her life. Noah and Paige’s estrangement allowed them both to experience their dysfunctions without using the other as a scapegoat, so when they did reconnect ultimately, they could let go of the past and move on with each other.
A large part of this book was about MS. Roman’s portrayals learning to communicate. This author did a fine job of showing the evolution of her characters relationship as they matured and the endurance of their love. One of the things that stood out in this work was the writer’s development of the lead’s awareness of each other’s feelings as they transformed from their teens to adulthood. Going from wanting it all to almost losing it all, this couple’s journey back to each other was hard to put down.
From page one readers will want to do anything but get away from Wynne Roman’s Wycked Escape, the perfect way to experience a captivating story wrapped up in great writing.

Jennifer Bray-Weber The Righteous Side Of Wicked Review!

In the Righteous Side of Wicked Jennifer Bray Weber continues the escapades of her Romancing the Pirate series and joins it with The Pirates of Britannia World for an exciting cross over work. This author offers a gruff and edgy hero in Coire Fletcher whose personal code of survival is to never to trust a woman. Coire owned his not so stellar life of piracy and made no attempt to hide who or what he was. Treva MacDougall was on the run from the Crown for her rebel activities and personified wily and gutsy as she took hold of her destiny facing the bad and searching for the good in life. This savvy couple was formidable individually but together they were unstoppable!
Ms. Bray-Weber navigated through this story at a fast clip with no shortage of action and harrowing predicaments, making this book virtually impossible to put down to its marvelous finale. Presenting a well formulated display of wits and maneuvers this author created a couple that gave no quarter in their attempts to not capitulate to love. It was evident the amount of skill this writer has as she adeptly captured the desperation that drove her characters to make the choices they did.
A great addition to the Pirates of Britannia World brethren, Jennifer Bray Weber’s The Righteous Side Of Wicked is a must read for anyone who loves a grand adventure with a healthy dose of romance and unrepentant lawlessness thrown in!

5 Stars
Valerie Bowman’s Playful Bride world is one filled with charming characters that make for great romances. Kiss Me at Christmas book ten in this series delivers yet another well deserved happily ever after for Bow Street Runner Daffin Oakleaf and decidedly on the shelf Lady Regina Haversham.
Ms. Bowman’s works are full of fun and quirks mixed with just enough sentiment to mist your eye and crack a smile with equal ease. Kiss Me at Christmas bring two of her beloved secondary characters to the forefront and at long last confronts their simmering attraction. This author expertly handled the warring of rational versus emotions, culminating when it became apparent to this couple that all the reasons why they should be together by far outnumbered all the reasons why they should not be together. Daffin and Regina held a special bond in their individual tragic pasts that added even more to their dynamic. Great chemistry and sparkling exchanges as well as an intriguing suspense component keep the pages of this work full of action and added a nice depth to an already captivating story.
Kiss me at Christmas brings a sweetness to the holidays that is exclusively Valerie Bowman and will leave readers with all the good cheer they have come to expect from her Playful Brides!

CHAPTER ONE
London, December 1818
Lady Regina Haversham’s thirtieth birthday was precisely one month away, which didn’t leave her much time to lose her virginity. Not that she wanted it lost. She wanted to know where it went and choose to whom she gave the dratted thing.
Her coach came to a stop in front of the offices of the Bow Street Runners in central London, and she drew in a deep, unsteady breath. She pressed her hands deeper into the white fur muff that sat atop her lap and willed her pounding heart to slow its nervous beat. Christmastide was her favorite time of year. She was in high spirits, but she was also as nervous as a young lady making her debut on her way to see the queen. This particular outing had every chance to end in disaster.
She glanced out the window. She probably should have hired a hackney. It would have been less conspicuous than her uncle’s resplendent coach. There were already several on- lookers staring up at the black-lacquered conveyance with the Duke of Colchester’s seal on the side. She glanced down at her clothing. No doubt her ensemble was too elegant for marching into the offices of the best private investigative team in London, but she had no other clothing to wear, and this particular message was best delivered in person. She didn’t know Daffin Oakleaf’s home address, and she hardly thought a note to him for what she had in mind would be ap- propriate. No. Regardless of the stares, she had to see him in person.
Regina had settled on the perfect birthday gift to herself. She would spend the night with a man. Not just any man. The finest candidate. One who had the face and body of a Greek god. Thirty years old. Tall, fit, and handsome. Blond hair and green eyes that held a twinkle she found irresistible. She’d met him last summer at her uncle’s estate. Her family had been gathered there for the unfortunate purpose of her cousin, the marquess’s, funeral. John had been murdered, and inappropriate or not, the man Regina had come to covet was the Bow Street Runner who’d helped investigate his murder.
She hadn’t seen Daffin since he’d left the estate that hot July day taking away the two murderers in shackles. Rarely a day passed since that Regina didn’t think of him. She’d read about him in the paper, too. Lately, there’d been a se- ries of articles in the Times focusing on his exploits. He’d caught criminal after criminal and, according to her cousin Nicole, made hefty bounties doing it. Now that Regina’s period of mourning was over and her uncle was forcing the issue of her marriage, Regina was here to ask Daffin Oak- leaf, legendary Bow Street Runner, to make mad, passionate love to her.
Her stomach performed a somersault. Could nerves make one physically ill? She suspected they could. Suspected hers would. She winced. It wouldn’t do to cast up her accounts in front of the man. That certainly wouldn’t attract him.
She glanced at her maid, who sat on the seat facing her, back ramrod straight. If the proper young woman knew what Regina was thinking, no doubt she’d be scandalized. Pre- cisely why Regina had said as little as possible about their outing today. Genevieve hadn’t asked many questions. Thank heavens.
The coachman opened the door and Regina took one more deep breath. “Wait here,” she said to Genevieve. “I shouldn’t be long.”
After all, how long could an indecent proposal possibly take?
CHAPTER TWO
Daffin Oakleaf pushed himself away from his office desk and scrubbed both hands across his face. He was tired. Bone tired. He hated Christmastide. He’d been running himself ragged chasing a particularly nasty thief across London for the last fortnight. Daffin had nearly had him, or so he thought, when a clue he’d been pursuing had turned to nothing. He was back to the start of his investigation, and severely out of sorts.
Daffin loved his work. It was perfect for him, and it had made him a wealthy man, but days like this were frustrating as hell. He much preferred to be taking down criminals and delivering them to gaol, instead of pacing his office with little to go on while they roamed free.
He was obsessed with each one of his cases, but this one kept him up at night. This case made his blood boil. A child had been injured by the bloody thief, and if there was one thing Daffin couldn’t countenance, it was a grown man being violent with a child. He would track down this monster if it was the last thing he did.
Most of Daffin’s investigations were done with the prom- ise of a hefty purse at the end, but he was doing this one for free. He always took on a case or two for charity at Christ- mastide. It was the least he could do. Not to mention it kept his mind from the blasted season. Focusing on his cases made the holiday easier to ignore. Easier to forget.
He pulled a notebook from his inner coat pocket and scanned the words he’d written on the case so far. Perhaps he’d missed something, some detail that would finally lead him down the right path to Henry Vickery.
“Oakleaf!” came the voice of Paul, the secretary, who sat out in the offices’ main room and fielded inquiries from people who came in off the street.
“I’m busy,” Daffin called back, not in any mood to be taken away from his case. It was probably someone else who’d read about him in the paper and wanted to make his acquain- tance. The papers hounded him of late. One reporter in par- ticular. Mr. H. J. Hancock.
The man seemed obsessed with following Daffin’s cases. Week after week, for months now Daffin had been mentioned in his articles. The stories made him sound like a bloody hero. They described how he chased down bad men in the dark of night, vaulting over walls, climbing up to rooftops, and taking more than one bullet. He’d never have answered the reporter’s bloody questions if he’d known the man would go and write things like that. Being a hero wasn’t Daffin’s pur- pose. Never had been. He did his work to put the scum of so- ciety behind bars. To get evil people off the street. To spare their future victims.

5 Stars
When a series expands there is always the danger it will get overwhelmed in the volumes and layers of its history, losing itself and getting sidetracked. Not so with the Rogue series. Instead of diluting her vision this author brings a richness that adds to her series creating more layers and more reasons to love it. Ms. Ward Cosio has an awareness of her characters that gives her readers touching and raw portrayals, allowing her to show her subjects stripped down to their very souls. Felicity Found was incredibly intimate and often contains harsh revelations, but no matter where this story veered it was always interesting, hard to pull away from and presented a story readers will feel is worth investing their emotions in.
Felicity Found brought its audience to a key stage in the lives of its leads, Felicity and Conor, who were both struggling with multiple life events. This work showed them at their breaking points. Lara Ward Cosio gives vivid far reaching depictions of how Felicity and Conor lost themselves in their well intended but misplaced attempts to take on what they felt were their roles and responsibilities in their relationship and life. Self-doubt and misunderstandings pushed and pulled this couple for a tumultuous evolution of who they were individually and as partners. There was no clearly delineated good or bad with this writer’s leads making them relatable to her audience in their imperfections and most of all human. Felicity and Conor showed incredible strength even in moments of weakness allowing them to find what they needed to recover who they were and move forward.
Lara Ward Cosio guides her work Felicity Found through unfiltered truth with a steady hand and sensitive insight for one great story!

Looking back, I should have seen the signs. Perhaps I did, but I subconsciously chose to ignore them.
From the time I was ten, when I first met Dylan, I knew he was my forever guy. Back then, I couldn’t put words to what I was feeling, but, as the years progressed, I came to recognize it for what it was—soul-deep love. The kind only very few people ever get to experience. Dylan was more than just my best friend, my childhood sweetheart, my lover.
He was my soulmate.
We were carved from the same whole—destined to be together forever.
Until he changed.
And I believed I was no longer good enough.
Until he shattered me so completely, it felt like I ceased to exist.
And I’d never experienced such heart-crushing pain.
Until he leveled me a second time, and I truly wanted to die.
But I had to stay strong because I wasn’t alone in this cruel twist of fate.
I look to the sky, pleading with the stars, begging someone to tell me what I should do because I don’t know how to deal with this. I don’t know how to cope when my forever has changed, and I can’t help wondering if I had seen the signs earlier, if I’d pushed him, would it have been enough to save us?
Or had fate already decided to alter our forever?

Excerpt:
A throat clearing alerts me to my brother’s presence. My eyes fly to the door, and Ryan is there, lounging against the wall, gaze narrowed as he watches us.
“Morning,” I croak, wincing at how hoarse my voice sounds.
“What the hell’s going on, Gabby? And why is Slate in your bed?”
“Technically, he’s not,” I say, unsuccessfully attempting to extricate myself from his grip.“He’s on top of my bed.”
At that moment, Slater, very unhelpfully, decides to nuzzle into my neck. A satisfied moan slips from his lips, and he blatantly inhales, rubbing his nose in my hair. “Mmm,you smell good,” he murmurs in a sleep-laced tone, pressing his morning wood against my ass. I can’t stop the whimper that escapes my mouth in time, and Ryan turns a very unflattering shade of red. If his jaw clenches any tighter, he’ll give himself lockjaw.
“This is not what it looks like,” I rush to assure him before he loses it.“And nothing happened, so there’s no need to go apeshit on Slate.”
“Someone better start explaining,” Ryan grumbles, and Slater stills behind me, slowly coming to.
“Ryan, dude. Stop freaking out,” Slater says after a tense minute of silence, his voice drenched with sleep.“I was only consoling Belle. That’s it. No need to look at me like you want to rip my head from my body.”
“That’s not the only part of your anatomy I’d like to dismantle right now,” my brother growls, slanting thunderous looks in Slater’s direction.
“Seriously, chill, bro.” Slater scoots away from me, and I instantly feel cold. I lie flat on my back as he swings his legs out the other side of the bed. Resting his elbows on his knees, he yawns. Thank God, he’s wearing a tank and sweats and that he’s hiding the evidence of his arousal until he’s gotten himself under control. The last thing I need is Ryan jumping to conclusions.
